Being a spectator and not a participant is WG's own fault. They skewered the game for experienced players resulting in many just staying in lower tiers and giving up on the ridiculous shagging going on in Tier 8 (especially the premiums) and 9 playing against Tier 10's.

I've been playing WOT on the EU server for over 10 years, and I haven't spent any money on the game for 3 years. I refuse to play their game, I only play free to play. I don't want to buy a lion or anything like that, it's best to punish the Russians by not spending real money and until they change their policy, I don't want to buy anything premium anymore! Claus -- Ths time, WG reduced the supply on the NA server. For the 780, 20,000 are available. On the NA, reduced the Lion to 15,000, only the first 5,000 on the NA got numbers. The first 5,000 sold out in the first minute.

Claus, this Lion looks like a Leopard 1 A3 / A4.. Which was also in Canadian Service..... So as a German I like the way it looks and performs with the 105 gun..

The italian will cooperate with Germany to make a new Leopard type tank so thath how created the Lion prorotype, but the Germans stops latter their invest in new italian project and Lion will newer be created. Thats why its too similariti with Leopard.

cause it is. The Leone/Lion IS a Leo 1A3, produced under license by Italy, that was modified for tropic/desert environments in order to be marketed for export. Problem is that it was still a 1A3 wich means Italy wasn't allowed to export it without German approval (wich they wouldn't get since the Leo 2 was close to completion). So the Italians modified the Leone a little bit (minor parts really, nothing big) and thus created the OF-40 (the 3d-style being the modernised Mk. 2 upgrade) in 1977. The OF-40 went into prduction, but was a flop, with only the UAE buying 34 of them (and having them in service until 2014).

I ve seen so many players on NA with less than 1000 games on their belt playing this tank and has no clue is to how they should play it. They play these lions like heavies. Mediums takes lots of practice and time to get decent with, especially paper cannon mediums. I’m pretty sure it’s boomers with lots of cash to waste or bought tons of loot boxes. But hey, without pay to play boomers, WOT would go out of business so, SHOUT OUT to all of them. Thanks.

It is a big problem so putting a limit on how many rounds you can carry and making each round cost 10 times more then it does would stop this problem. Or they could cut the damage the gold rounds in half.

I don't have any of those two tanks (obj/lion), because I don't think deal involving 200 dollars/euro or 750 PLN for me (where minimal wage in Poland is something like 2700 PLN net/month - I could afford it from "grinded" stuff on my account, but that is not my point) in resources is a good deal. Maybe I'm too old (stared playing games in commodore / amiga era) for this monetization pushing on us from every side in this game (or many other MMOS or even sic! "single player" games nowadays). I have stoped playing game at the end of last year (after 12 year of playing, the BZ money grab was too much for me) and can't see anything to change my mind after month from that time. Paying 200 bucks for bag of pixel in game where power creep make tanks piece of crap in one year of time is stupid, but maybe I'm wrong, becouse there is a lot of players who pay thousands of euro for this game in EU and they are proving that WG is "right". The game will never come back from this route - more and more stupid cash grabs till the end of this game some time in the future (when player base will stop paying for their "services"). There is very old saying - time is money, so you either pay them with hard cash or with your time (potential money). Plus WG themselves put price on that tank - you could buy it for 55000 gold, what give you +/- 200 bucks if I'm not wrong. You can spend both those resources however you want - they are yours and yours alone (if your partner don't have something to say on that matter). For me spending xyz hours to grind those resources in game is not worth that. Plain and simple. Its better to spend that time with your friends or family. You can think and do otherwise. Have fun with this new tank for next few months - until WG introduce some frecking whealy, driving around 100km/h with laser guided, autoloading 180mm gun and sell it like there is no tomorrow and your new shiny tanks will become crap in next hour after that sale.

So once more - I'm not envious of anyone - I could get this tank without any problem whatsoever - I have a lot obligation/free xp/creds on my account. I have played this game for 12 years and had time to gather resources, also have spend some money on this game myself - and almost all prem tanks that I "own" on my account right now are piece of crap because WG cant balance their own game. Like I said before - you can do what you want with you money and time, for me and my money this is one big no-no and that is all. After all that time I'm just tired of WG cash grab policy that is just more and more obvious with each passing year. I didn't get that tank because on simple reason - next 6 months or maybe one year from now WG will add next stupid prototype tank that will outshine this one because they need to sell it. They could make lot of money on skins like LOL did but they preferred to go other way around by going into spiral of better and better machines over time and now they cant stop this madness because player base will not buy balanced machines with medicore stats and they need to make money for obvious reasons. They don't do anything to prevent power creep in this game - they just add more tanks, that are much better then the previous one. Take a look at IS-6, FCM 50t or T-25 pilot they are all tier 8 tanks but what they can do against powercreeped monsters like Skoda T-56, BZ-176 or even CS-52. Nothing - you can flank those tanks, fight them 2 or 3vs1 or go fight on the other flank, but 1vs1 - good luck with that.

On EU server it took 3 hours 46 minutes to sell 65.000 Lions. 22.000 numberd ones and 43.000 standard ones. Event opened 17:00 CET and by 20:46 CET all were gone. I was there hitting the refresh button to see the last ones go. I did not get one because I saw my Obj 780 sitting in the garage with less then 50 games played so getting Lion would have been the same waste of resources.

Hey Claus - So, some comments: (1) Free-to-play vs PAY-to-play. Yup, a clear advantage to the latter but hey, Life Ain't Fair (that's the Preamble to "Murphy's Law"). (2) 2nd Preamble is T.N.S.T.A.A.F.L. - shoutout to scifi author Robert Heinlein for using this often in his stories, "There's No Such Thing As A Free Lunch". Maybe not you but SOMEONE always pays the tab. (3) I did watch the full review of the Lion by both that Brit CC and Dez and the consensus is the Lion is virtually an Italian Leopard with the advantage of that weird auto-reloader. And the secret to that gun is never fired the 4th round except in an emergency - treat it under normal conditions as a 3-shot clip, because that SECOND round loads in only 8 seconds! Fire that last, 4th round, and you're stuck with a 20+ sec reload for that 1st shot. (4) OK, I'm an admitted sucker and did buy a Lion, but only very late in the day so without a number. And I did so because of the aforementioned reviews, giving me access to at least an equivalent to a Leopard - maybe better - without having to grind it out AND giving me a Tier X PREMIUM tank that can't/shouldn't be nerfed.

My Logic, I bought 160 loot boxes and received the following prem tanks, BZ176, AMBT, Iron Arnie, and Vipera, 62,000 gold, prem time 160 day give or take, and mis. other stuff, (cost close to $200 I guess, then I converted my xp which cost 38,000 gold and used that to buy this Lion tier X tank which is an excellent bond maker. which leaves me with 22K gold left. So when I look at prem time, left over gold, and top tier prem tanks I got for price it doesn't seem that bad. It seem War Gamming wants you spend on loot boxes and next year's events give you something to spend on.

Klaus is 100% correct about the resource drain. It's not free... You're paying for it. It just doesn't seem like it because you had to grind over a long time. You'd have been able to get much more for those resources otherwise.

I have been involved in WoT for almost 12 years over 2 accounts. The first was when they allowed team kills. That turned me off, but continued trying for a while, then took time off until I heard they stopped TKing. Now second account is 6 years but even now I have only 1 t10 the T62A. I am retired now and can't afford much. I ground up the double barrel line and have the t9, and researched the t10 but don't have the credits to buy it. I find that I am rarely matched with a team that wants a win over getting killed as quickly as they can

You nailed it when you said "It is what it is!" WoT is a business and they have to find ways to generate revenue. The only way to do this is better tanks so Power Creep is inevitable. Imagine them selling a serialized Lion that is just as good as anything else! No one would buy it and they would get blasted for trying to sell mediocrity at a premium price. I have a gorgeous T-34 in my garage that at one point was a good tank and did good work for me. Time passed and now it is a horrible tank to play but I do take it out once in a while due to nostalgia. I think WoT should encourage older tank play through special incentives (play your XXXX day and for each battle get an entry to win ????) or opening other lobbies on occasion (i.e., only tanks pre 2018??). A few more choices would not hurt their business model and I think would make some of their loyal player base happier.

It's a terrible thing. Good customers, implies there can be bad ones. Where as I suggest, there are types of players. This drive to satisfy the top 10% of customers, kills the game for the other 90%. Now it's true I don't feel compelled to get the latest tank but I used to buy gold for crew swaps etc. And there were 10 of me, to every one of them..... So which contributes more. I'd like to see 2 game modes. Traditional (Tech Tree) Amateur league and Super Premier, Ultra Elite Pro league. I'd also like a new bicycle for Christmas, since we are sharing wishes.

that's my issue on the NA server. every time i play, at least half of both teams are just premium tanks, and two-thirds of the hits i take are gold rounds(very conservative estimate). it's not even fun anymore. i used to spend money, but WG became addicted to just selling advantage and no one called them out on it. the fanboys even praise it. i'll just stick to low tiers when i play, which isn't even very often anymore. used to play for hours at a time, now i get on and play 3 matches and log off. been playing since April 2011

I don't have a problem with this assembly shop stuff, because I'm not at that level, that I should care about this type of tanks. I still have enough tank lines to grind, that are more exiting to me. I am enjoying my T95 at the moment, that goes 25km/h... I don't really care about a tank, that I can't even make work. So for players that have most of the lines and have a lot of the resources and don't know what to do with it, this is the time to spend them. That's just my opinion. And great videos as always.

For example, you can program your mouse left button to fire a shell and them zoom out. You know, some people does not use the minimum requirements for the games. Not a defense of WG, but there are players in this game that can accumulate these resources as f2p throughout the yr. What i do is play normally but don't activate battle pass chapters untill i can do something with the premium time, which adds up to 2 weeks or so (with well deserved reward and others), and then i grind creds, often in Frontline times. Blueprints i get from winter event and other ingame missions Free XP, as f2p, you get more from daily missions, which i often reroll for blueprints or free xp. Statswise, i am 53-54% with 1500-2000 wn8 (self-taught from vids). My only regret is that i can't play Lion and 780 in various t10 game modes like Onslaught and Ranked (0 gold spent getting either). The key is not to waste everything, as the trading caravan is coming up, the Peregrine last yr was awesome. I think the 780 is more RNG, if they go for 340 HEAT, that front armor won't work, so you are betting hard on the other players not going full gold on you. Lion was 25% more expensive (i hope the trend does not continue), but it's better for my playstyle and at T10 Progetto 65 is one of my most played tanks, even after the nerfs. PS: Otoh, if you didn't have the resources, it is totally NOT worth the 150-200 euros. :)

I have one that's not numbered since I didn't log in until almost 9pm and there was only 5100 left at that point. My 780 has an idiot badge lol. Apparently the numbered ones sold out in a few mins on the NA server.

There were only 5000 numbered tanks on the NA server, 15,000 total. Any number higher than 5000 has to be on the European server

numbered tanks are sold out but you can buy normal versions on NA. its 200$ in cash, 50k in gold or you can use old blueprints/bonds . Honestly its not horrible

@@darthhemi1735 I agree, it's not a horrible tank, you just have to get used to it. (Of course, that's true of all new tanks--you have to get used to them.) It's like driving those heavies that are support/snipers and you spend half the game with all the other players screaming at you to charge into a frontal assault.

I am a purist, I guess. I remember when WOT sold the idea of their tanks being representative of real tank behavior. The other day I saw an FV4005 that looked like a locomotive with a steam engine. I have to admit I hung around it looking, and I thought it was pretty cool. Did it belong in my game? Takes a lot of nuts to make a pecan pie. Everyone's welcome. Goes with the whole "pursuit of happiness" thing. Lion and the concept behind it does not float my boat, but I don't judge others if it floats theirs.

No I looked at it and I had (literally) enough for 1% and said "screw that and screw spending what it would cost" I did have a coupon so I got the auto loader IS-3 and it's fun enough for me.

Something is really fishy with that auto aim. Just IMO, but I think the "better" tank between 780 and the Lion will depend on what tanks you like to play and do well in. If you like the Prog 65 and/or the Leo 1 then the Lion could be good for you. The 780 isn't a bad tank but some don't like it as much because it's a bit of a generalist heavy tank and isn't as good hull down as some other T10 heavies and doesn't have as much armor and HP compared to the other T10 super heavy tanks.

Got an unnumbered Lion. Had a gazillion blueprints etc so no big deal. This tank will not be that much of an issue. Very strong/OP in good player hands but can't do what a 279E or Chieftain can so won't cause anywhere near as much grief.

I have premium account. It saves me having to grind, It saves me having to worry about per game spend. I still only run basic consumables. I still ration my gold ammo (mostly 10-30% apart from IX & X, which is higher, depending on the tank). I'm a 48%, and I play for fun. I don't feel ripped off, as I don't spend anything apart from the premium fee. Free to players also need people like us, otherwise there wouldn't be a game at all, as WG can't pay & feed their staff on 'grind'. So when they come out with these cash catchers, that is fine, as no-one is making you spend anything. You buy, or you don't buy.

luckily I was working second shift that day!! and when I returned home at 1 AM they were gone :) 5K one grenade!! an average of 20 grenades per battle, easy 100K minuses = an hour of play costs millions :)

22k numbered Tanks was sold out in 1 Minute on EU... all 65k where gone in 3 hours or so i hammered my ressources in but got some server problems and after 1:30 only got one with no skin feels scamed..

He must have been on the EU server because on the NA server the numbered tanks only went to 5000. There was only 15,000 available on the NA server. I got one but it took me like one minute to gather my resources and I missed out on a numbered tank.

I bought one... Used free XP and blueprints... Have every tech tree already researched and loads of free XP... Still have heaps od XP... Would never use gild or bonds or even credits.... Hav t played it yet maybe a months time... Sold out Asia in 2 minutes (every variety)
