My grandad loved this song! We even had some musicians play Dixie at his funeral and they did a beautiful, tear inducing rendition!

Josh, I like all your stuff, but you outdo yourself here. It seems to come right from the heart!

That was some legit clawhammer playing. Just learning and having a hard time deciding between clawhammer or bluegrass. Videos like this make me love clawhammer.

There should be a two part "like" and "dislike" button. The first part is whether you like it or not, and the second part should be a drop down menu with a list of specific reasons. This would discourage senseless dislikes. Why would people dislike this? Maybe they are Yankees, or maybe they stumbled onto folk music by accident. This is a great rendition. Thanks for your efforts!

this is the unoffical song of the confederacy. The song is beautiful, but it has a complicated history and was played during minstrel shows.

True, but even Lincoln said this was one of his favorite songs. @@HH-hj6mx

Enjoy the song and I like your site as I am trying to learn to play. Am doing the 8 step thing and it has helped me more than other places on net. I have subscribed and followed the steps to get the tabs but so far haven't gotten the email from your site.

Very nice, as usual! Have you thought of doing Death cab for Cutie's "Title and Registration"? There's a clawhammer cover of it on YT (only part of the song) which makes me think it would sound awesome

You crushed that historical song. It’s so hard to see how you are strumming. I see the pointer finger hitting but the other 3 strumming too?

For some reason your version of Old Plank Road is removed from KZbin Music. Hopefully not some BS copyright strike. I'll comment this on a few of your other songs so you get the word (and maybe help an algarhythm too).
