I have wanted to build a modular rocket stove, one with a block construction, stackable chambers etc. Anything I can manage with clay it's so easy to use, unlike a welder. My thought was to copy a wood gasification unit using clay and attach it to a rocket stove with variety of outputs of heat or make one modular setup that burns quickly over efficiency depending on the needs

That's cool. How long did it hold up? I kinda wonder with the sticks. Could you surround a plywood box with clay like this and make a stove? How thick were your walls in this?
@ritamachia33542 жыл бұрын
The sticks are used more as a form, tho they would add some structural integrity. I've built several similar stoves/ovens of mud/cob with little or no dry grass mixed in for additional strength and they were very strong, still perfect after several years.

Super my friend, absolutely super. I will make one today. We live totally off grid in Wales and one of these is just what we need,Thankyou.
@Bootysmoothie2 жыл бұрын
I'd love to live off grid, I designed an infinitely running generator, a simple thing similar to the operations of a rocket stove as a comparison. Basically a small motor turns a shaft or circle in my case which turns many alternators at their maximum speed, the number of alternators would run the driving motor once it was up to speed of course, any excess from the alternators could be spent or used in a second stage. Some dude won a prize off that basic principle so clearly the u.s. is as dumb as it seems

Excellent video! Did the stove crack because it wasn't completely dried before firing it up or was there not enough temper material in the mix?

Impressive how you did it more naturally, with plants and without electrical power tools. Looks a thick hard clay. Is that from clay soil where you live? No good where I am, because sandy.

i had like ... unexplained rage when he was so tedious with mixing the cob. I have no idea why he used the shovel. And then gingerly folded it with the tarp.. I was just screaming at the screen 'just walk on it for god's sake'. i get trying to stay clean or whatever.. i guess. But then he handles the cob with his hands anyway so it all seemed so needlessly pretentious.. Otherwise the stove was an absolute masterpiece. way better than the first piece of shit i made a few years ago after watching a video or two.

@@antoniovillafane1114 It's not sarcastic, and if you stand by this, I'm not sure you understand what "sarcasm" means very well. I made an observation, which is very simple: he's using an ancient design of a stove to cook potatoes possibly on vegetable oil, which didn't really exist until XX century, and used to be something not even considered food.
@Willkakau4 жыл бұрын
Yes, good observation. Vegetable oils of any kind it's horrible for you, poison pure and simple, don't ever use It. But very good project.
