People who say this storyline was dumb have never experienced DID or severe emotional/psychological trauma and felt what it’s like to be repressing details of your life. Yes, even a vital detail like having a child. If the trauma is too much for a person to handle, their brain will absolutely block out details surrounding the trauma to cope, until they move past said trauma

I never had a dissociative fugue before or even full blown dissociative amnesia but when I was 8, there was certain things I forgot even people I forgot about partly because of the trauma I was going through. I forgot two of my best friends, at some point my dad, at another point my mom, etc. Of course it wasn't when they were actively there. Still probably the hardest thing for me was when I forgot what my mom looked like and tried to remember. That and I guess I've always had mental health issues which also include dissociative disorders like derealization and depersonalization and others like anxiety, depression, etc even as a young adult. I'm still trying to figure out what it's called what happened to me when I was a kid. Edit: Now as an adult, even things I blocked out all throughout my life, just keep flooding back. Most of it were traumatic.

Yes, Sara died before Clay met Nathan and Haley. Sara's death is the reason he moved to Tree Hill

Of course Clay's dorky like that! Naming his son after his favorite superhero :P love you Clay and Logan :D

Clay and Quinn’s acting in this scene is phenomenal. In all the acting when Clay discovered Logan was so Natural and felt so real. Clay avoiding Quinn’s gaze afraid of how she would react and the shame he felt after he realized he blocked out his own son after Sarah’s death. And Quinn’s supportive nature with Clay to the shocked look She portrayed , but still trying to be there for Clay. The acting was so well done between the two and the chemistry is so natural. Quinn and Clay were the best additions to the show after Hillarie and Chad left. Honestly the show’s best years were season 6 onwards. Especially seasons 7-9. Season 6 largely because it stopped being the Lucas, Peyton, Brooke who will he choose show. Will Peyton and Lucas be endgame was such a painful theme of the show.

I agree, I had just finished season 6-7 and I had thought I would be sad that Lucas and Peyton left but it was actually refreshing not to worry about that constant storyline & Clay and Quinn were the perfect additions to the show

yeah. this story was pretty dumb. But in the end it ended up being good... One big happy family

It reminded me of a soap opera storyline, at least this was better acted.

Why was it dumb? That he was so traumatized that it effected his memory? Things like this can exist for military but not others? 🤔

@@sparrowhawk5673 What you said. His wife had a cerebral hemorrhage and dead right on the spot.

@@sparrowhawk5673 i think it was more dumb in the way that they kinda shoehorned it in. it would've made more sense if they'd mentioned it in season 8, or had some inklings of it. it kinda felt like they'd just decided it so that clay/quinn could have kids like everyone else, but not have to do another pregnancy storyline.
@Themoviermaker3 жыл бұрын
Maybe the story would've made sense if Sarah died in the childbirth of Logan. Then Clay's trauma would make more sense.

This storyline is one that was significantly ahead of it's time. Even early 2010s, taking this deep of a dive into the mental health aspects of trauma and loss wasn't happening. In 2023, this storyline in and of itself would be an award winning miniseries on Netflix exploring loss, but in this case, people dislike it because it was part of OTH.

I'm sorry but this falls under one of the more ridiculous and soaplike arcs the show ever did. It made zero sense whatsoever but the actors did well with the material and the kid who plays Logan is adorable.

Fugue is something that really happens sometimes.
@lexi2196 жыл бұрын
Agreed. They executed the material well, but the set up was absolutely ridiculous. In the six years after Sara died, did Clay not talk to her parents at all? He didn’t visit not once? Once they knew that he was healing, they didn’t feel the need to tell him he had a child? How long were they going to keep his child from him if he didn’t remember on his own? Also, Logan didn’t recognize him but knew what his mom looked like. Does this mean Sara’s parents gave Logan pictures of his mom, but not his dad? If they were hoping that Clay would one day come and get Logan, wouldn’t they show the little boy what his dad looked like?
@bunbacheso6 жыл бұрын
@@lexi219 They did tell Clay he had a son multiple times. His brain still couldn't process the info, so he couldn't remember it.

Not gonna lie. This has to be the most FARFETCHED storyline I've ever scene on this show or any other besides SOAPS. Out of curiosity, does anyone know if it's actually plausable for Clay to forget and lose touch with his son for over 5 years? Seems kind far fetched that he wouldn't have faced his problem head on and raised Logan or at the very least know of his existence.
@lunalove93954 жыл бұрын
i think it is a legit disorder, albeit rare. its more common in victims of childhood sexual abuse. i think the weirdest bit was that he didn't show any symptoms until this season - otherwise it would've been more plausible. i feel like they could've tackled it sooner instead of doing the whole katie thing, which was dumb.
