This has to be the best saltillo tile setting video I’ve seen 👍🏽

Great transformation. The satillo tiles create a huge transformation in your store. Also, the contrast in color of the 2 tiles used and the rounded shapes add interest contrary to traditional square shaped satillo tiles. The end result really warms the place up and gives it instant character. Beautiful job!

There’s actual Saltillo tile grout you can buy the mix or you can mix it we make it ourselves with a , 100lb bag or silica sand #60 , 1/2 94lb bag of Portland cement and then we add color which is 1/2 25lb bag of walnut color grout , literally makes the best grout easy to clean super durable and it’s what all the Mexicans haciendas have for grout as well , it’s the traditional saltillo grout you can make with it without the color grout but it gives it a nicer finish with

Looks great! I've been thinking of installing traditional hand-made Saltillo floor tile in my home for awhile now. I was imagining square tiles, but those rounded shapes with varying colors are making me pause and reconsider.

This is SO incredibly helpful! I am moving into a new house that has some very old not maintained tile and I need to reseal it. But before I seal it, I think i need to strip it. Do you have any advice on this? Can I sand away the old sealant? Can I rent a machine to help do this? is there any other way than scrubbing by hand because I have over 900 sq ft to do! Thanks so much!!!!

DIY stripping and resealing terracotta tiles is possible. However, since we don’t have specific details about your tiles, we recommend contacting a tile cleaning specialist in your area, especially given the large area you need to cover. They can provide the best guidance and ensure your tiles are properly maintained. Thank you for understanding!

Fantastic. So beautiful. I had mine for 23 years and outdoors. I wander if you know any good products to strip and reseal. I really enjoyed the work totally 💯

Thank you! Stripping and resealing is a quite labor-intensive and we recommend contracting a tile installation professional for this work. They will also be able to best advise you on what materials to use.

Love the fluer de lis and the San Felipe pattern I would have done the traditional terracota color and the manganese to give it more texture and a nicer more designed look

Coming soon we will be building our own home and would LOVE to use the saltillo tile. We are more partial to the traditional 12x12 square but wouldn't mind even using this style either. Once that time comes we will definitely be in contact.

Beautiful! What color grout did you use and do you need to seal the grout too?
@clayimports2 жыл бұрын
We used Mapei Saltillo Specific Gray Grout! Sealing the grout is not required but an extra coat will give you the extra protection, especially in high traffic and wet areas.

Hi I'm just curious would you reccommend backer board for installing into a home with a wood base board
@clayimports Жыл бұрын
Are you asking would we recommend installing hardy backer over a house with a plywood foundation? If so, yes we would recommend that. Please also consult your local contractor as well though, as every project is unique!

I told Rie (no Good Tattoo) that I wanted terracotta floors - so they showed me pictures of yours on your website. Then I found your video. When do they have the last call 70% off sale?
@clayimports10 ай бұрын
Hello! Currently, we don't have that offer. However, we do have a 20% extra off on all tile bundles for small projects.

Oh man.. no underlay? Have any of them cracked?
@clayimports6 ай бұрын
Thinset was used as underlayment for this terracotta tile installation, ensuring a strong, durable bond and secure tile placement.
