yeeun said that she's been writing her raps since she was a trainee but cube always modified her lyrics, they finally stopped doing that in 2017. they really took away the creative freedom from them and (disclaimer: no offense to these following groups) they let pentagon and gidle write their own songs since debut.

gidle’s debut kept on getting pushed back because cube is not giving them any song. Soyeon stepped up and made Latata which never got any support from Cube except from her members. Same goes for Hann, they rejected it but the members liked it. Soyeon fought for both Latata and Hann that’s why it got released. She made lots of presentations for it and when Cube saw the success through Soyeon’s songs, they made her write idle’s songs + minnie is also participating and the other members are now practicing making music. Soyeon fought for idle to have a freedom in making music, if she didn’t made Latata or didn’t fought for it, I don’t know when will they get to debut. So, saying cube letting idle write their own songs since debut just doesn’t sit right with me since they kept on rejecting Latata and Hann right in the beginning, but then because she didn’t gave up, here we are listening to it.

There were lots of hints on ‘Idle’ music video about her debuting in a group + the name itself. Latata was probably written much more earlier than Jelly. As for why cube decided to have soyeon debut year earlier than the group. I don’t know about that. And as for Pentagon, again, i am not their fan, i am not in their fandom. So, I don’t know anything about them.

I don’t like bighit buying so much in such a short while, and I don’t think bighit buying cube would guaranteed give clc a bright future. However, bighit is by far better at management than cube. All of the groups and artists (previous ones too) of cube has suffered bad management, and i believe clc would be better managed and promoted, even just for a short while. the way clc is mismanaged and mistreated honestly reminds me of how sm entertainment mistreated f(x). both had the potential to be huge, and were on their way to dominating the industry, but their companies held them back. despite being veteran idols, neither got official lightsticks. no global tours. literally no support from their successful companies, and unofficial disbandments for both.

not a stan of clc but i do like and listen to their songs. and i kinda feel bad that this amazing group was not fully showcased to their potential. They had the talent, the looks and the charisma to be a top-tier girlgroup but Cube failed to optimize it. Wishing the girls all the best for them. Im sure their fans are missing them already.
