Clean and Fix old gas can

Thank you @mongofix! Wifey and I just moved into an old house and there are ten miscellaneous gas cans in the old shed. All of the cans are in good shape like the one in your video. I don't know if there were oil/fuel mixes in the cans...that being said, are there any extra steps you might recommend just to be on the safe side?

NICE FIND!!! no extra steps needed really. If the inside really nasty then it might need more time with degreaser. Gasoline, diesel and mix gas all really thin petroleum products, so degreaser removes them easily. Have fun and enjoy.

I have a can like this. The spout does not have a gasket for the spout/can connection to keep it from leaking. Where do I get a gasket?

Some hardware stores will have make your own gaskets. Just make sure it rated for fuel (NITRILE rubber) Mongo has used old junk fuel cans to make one. (cut out a large piece of the plastic can that is flat and shape as needed)

Yes, the EZpour has adapters for a few different type. Mongo get 1 for a Chilton can at Ace Hardware. Can also check this link ezpourspout.com/product-category/adapters/
