IF they'd released this in summer it would've been all over the place. It's very Summertime Sadness meets Teenage Dream in quality. It's still doing well though and Marina does deserve better, but the truth of it all is that the US runs the music industry and is blocking another UK invasion. They only let us have one UK diva at a time make it HUGE in the US. ( The US is the largest music exporter in the world and sets the standard ) --- Think about it. Several years ago we had Duffy, Paloma Faith, Adele and Amy Winehouse. Amy took that fame slot. When she passed, Adele got it. That is why Jessie J has also been getting blocked a bit. It's also why rock music isn't big at all anymore in the mainstream. The UK has provided 90% of the rock hall of fame and legends. The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, half of Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabath, The Smiths, The Who, The Kinks, The Cure, Led Zepellin , Sex Pistols, Pink Floyd, Def Leppard, Queen, etc. All the way to the late 90's which after that is where they really started to block us because we were taking over the market again. every decade of rock, the UK has ruled. 90's meant Coldplay, Radiohead, Oasis, Blur, The Verve and of course The Cranberries who were in their own lane. Blocking UK success in the music industry is why rock is failing as a genre. Florence + the Machine & Bastille deserve just as much recognition . . . actually more than Maroon 5 or Imagine Dragons.
