You're doing a great job getting your home in order. Almost, a spring cleaning. The curtains are very pretty. They add some nice spring color. You did a good job on them. I too have reduced the items around my home and am being very selective as to what I want out and even to hang on the walls. Watching you gives me thoughts of how I want my home to feel. You are truly having an effect on myself and many more I expect. Keep us on point. Thank you, Joan

Joan, thank you so much! ❤️That is so meaningful and nice for you to say. Yes, I do my spring cleaning this time of year. We start working outdoors early, around March. My focus shifts, so I have to spend time doing this early in the year!

Hello Suzanne 😊, your kitchen looks so fresh it sparkles. Such a good feeling of accomplishment! I just love your new tablecloth and other linens. I like the idea that they make tablecloths to the size of your table. Thanks for sharing this kitchen makeover with us. I can only imagine how mentally draining it was. You did a lot of decluttering and redecorating in one day, it would take me all week long to do that! Thank you, Suzanne. I hope you can have a restful week❤
@thefarmerswifecanadaКүн бұрын
Hi Roberta, yes, it was so draining!!! It took so much mental and physical energy, but the rewards have been huge. It is so much easier to keep my home clean. I am putting more attention to dusting and wiping surfaces, because there is far less clutter in the way. And I’ve got to do my “spring cleaning” early in the year. Soon enough, we’ll be outdoors working on the farm!

I love everything you've done in your kitchen. It looks so light and bright. The curtains, table linens and other touches of green look so fresh. And the view out your windows is so beautiful! I think January is a good time to refresh your home, declutter & clean and be more intentional about what comes in. Enjoyed the video very much. --Barbara

Beautiful ❤️ I love your solution for covering the unused phone jack! We've been in our house for 19 yrs and the builder put those everywhere...bathroom walls, kitchen backsplash, every bedroom wall had one and, of course, now we don't need them 😔 so I have been slowly taking off the cover plates, clipping the wires and either covering them with a plain, flat cover plate that I can paint and pulling the cord off the wall or tiling over them LoL but the crochet baskets are absolutely beautiful 😊
@thefarmerswifecanadaКүн бұрын
I was totally wondering about the cord!! Mine is still there. I’m just nervous that if I go to cut it, I’ll electrocute myself or something!!! Can I just cut it??

@@Michele_6815 Thank you so much! ❤️ It was a draining process, for sure. I got rid of SO MUCH! Once I have made the decision, I get rid of things quickly. There were a few treasures I went and pulled out of my boxes. In fact, the Currier and Ives tray is one of them!! I was about to get rid of it, until I realized that it went perfectly with those curtains!

Suzanne, the new linens, both the valances you made and the gifted items for the table, are just stunning and perfect for your space. The amount you decluttered is amazing. What did you choose to do with the cookbooks you are not displaying? Will you gift to family or friends some of the items you decided not to keep? I just sent the first "care" package of vintage kitchen decor to my son and daughter-in-law in Maine. They would like it all but that would take a U-Haul...lol...

Hi Leslie, I so wish that I had friends or family interested. Unfortunately, I don’t!! 😢 I am quite impatient to get rid of things once I’ve made the decision. I donated everything to our local churches thrift store. I am a huge supporter of them, whether it’s buying or donating, and I feel like it’s going to a good cause. They help people in need. I was one of those people at one point in my life, so I always try to give back! ❤️

I sometimes watch another channel. She is constantly sorting and decluttering and donating stuff. But every week she goes thrifting and brings more stuff home. I don't think she sees the vicious cycle she creates.
@thefarmerswifecanada15 сағат бұрын
I had a lot of self-realizations during my decluttering. My hoarding and collecting needs to end!! I still love to find treasures, but when it becomes a burden, rather than a joy….its time to reflect on this. I agree, it is a vicious cycle. Thank you for noting that. It is an important thing to think about! 😊
