I’m going to suggest you use the file method to store your clothes in the drawers. It really is better to give you a good view of all your clothes. I did it for everything. My kids love it. And they make less mess because they aren’t digging through the drawers for stuff. 😂
@reallifewithali Жыл бұрын
I have been thinking about doing that. Thanks for the suggestion! I have tried it with a few of my kids and they can’t keep it that way. 🤦🏻♀️

@@reallifewithali well, if they’re really young, it will be a mess. 😂 Mine were teens when I started it. They still make a mess when in a hurry but it’s not too bad.

@@lfuentes4098 Most of them are teens! Haha. But they do their own thing. They do pretty well taking care of their drawers. On the other hand, my 8 year olds drawers are always a disaster!

Great job on your closet and dresser! I totally relate on the perfectionism! I wear a variety of "hats" - I am a speech pathologist and own my own company, so I wear t-shirts with my logo on them for work. I also am president/founder of a small nonprofit and need dress clothes for speaking engagements or meetings. I'm a mom and a wife who loves to kayak, go out to dinner with family, paint/create and lounge around watching movies or a good TV series in the evenings. I seem to have a small wardrobe for every role! I don't have tons of clothes, and they all fit neatly in my closet or dresser (container concept!), but I recently got rid of a garbage bag full! The hardest things for me are my cozy pj's of all things! I love snuggling up in them. I have some guilty pj bottoms - I don't like the elastic at the bottom, but my son got them for me, they are super cute/soft and I can't seem to let them go. I don't wear them much though. Ugh! Have a great week! 💜

You do wear a lot of “hats”! And if your wardrobe is working, great! I have never really been “in style” and I’m pretty simple. But I do think I will want to get some new pieces soon!

@@reallifewithali same here! I recently lost 31 pounds very quickly due to being really sick and having to be on a liquid diet for 6 weeks. I finally had my gallbladder removed last month and the inflammation in the lining of my intestines has gone down, so I'm hoping I can maintain the weight loss now that I'm starting to eat again. Nothing much fits me well any more (except pj's 🤣), but I know my weight may change again - either up or down. I hate to spend money to buy new stuff, but it's a weird place to be. My clothes are not comfy or flattering. I may just buy a few key bottom pieces so at least my pants aren't so baggy until my weight levels off. Tops are a little more forgiving. Is that what you would do?
@reallifewithali2 жыл бұрын
@@gaild9003 yeah I think that’s a good idea! I would definitely buy a couple staple pieces for now.

I started using the Project 333 method for setting up my seasonal wardrobe. I don’t include workout wear or jewelry in my 33 pieces, but I found I can easily get by on 6 bottoms, 2 dresses, 12 tops, 6 layer pieces (blazers, cardigans, jackets, coats), 6 pr shoes, and 1 handbag. I change out pieces based on the season.

I used to be a perfectionist. I decided to break free of it when I realized it had unhealthy roots from my childhood. I got hold of a book on the topic. What a waste the whole book was. Hours of my life I will never get back. And then on the very last page a one liner that set me free. "Strive for excellence, not perfection." Such a simple emphasis shift, but with such radical implications. I love doing things in the most excellent way I can, without the pressure of it having to be perfect. Maybe an idea you can explore in your self talk?

Going to be tackling my closet in a couple of days. I need to be realistic & you are sooo right! The wardrobe needs to work for how my body is now. I’ll keep that in mind as I go. Thanks for keeping it real!!

Love this! I've been working on my closet. Still need to go through my folded clothes but it felt so good to reduce my hanging. I've also been trying to adopt the mentality of what actually works with my current body.

Given the memory ? bins and the space if those bins can stack on top of another without dmg then I would go 2x2 and stack them right on that arm height shelf in front of you under all those empty hangers. Then if you need to I’ve anything it’s just 1 bin to access the box under!

That or swap them for the open baskets, cause those you can add into them without moving them and your already easily reaching for any bins that do exist up there - 7:00
