How do you clean the drain that’ll eventually get clogged before it reaches the drain pan?

The good news for me is I have not had a clogged grease trap. Been using this the flat top a few times a month on average. At the @1:22 mark I show how I scrap and then discard the larger food particles that are left over from cooking into a trash bag. This removes the amount of larger or “clog-able” particles. And at the @2:56 mark I use a handle of paper towels to clean up most of the grease. I can definitely look to make a video addressing the grease trap because there is some minor grease build up on the side walls. Hope this helps.

Did you grind your top smooth? Mine has crazy texture from the factory

I have not. I did notice there were some uneven spots on the flattop when I was using my scrapper but I have figured out ways to work around it. With what you are describing, I might be tempted to get a replacement. Hopefully that is an an option for you. No need to fight that much when its supposed to be flat out of the gate!
