I’ve got a Rode USB mini mic, it used to be fine but since I switched from Mac to PC I can’t get the audio to sound right again. I used to be able to hear my laughs, now those get cut out and when I get excited and yell, the ending of the word in the sentence gets chopped off and the beginning of the new sentence as well. It’s so annoying. I’ve tried all the filters (not necessarily in that exact order) but I’ve tried adding those together and it didn’t help. Will try this in the morning. Fingers crossed it’ll fix the issue

I've applied these tips to my mic, but a scream or yell cuts my voice out, and some distortion happens. Not sure what to adjust

Sound like your noise gate and compressor settings could be a bit too aggressive for your voice. Dial them back a bit and see if that helps :)

Can we do basically the same thing but for our microphone through our whole computer? So, discord sounds clean etc.?

I believe that can be done with something called Reaper, but I don’t have any experience with that software.

you can always try some kind of Noise Reduction in post. Audacity and Davinci Resolve has some pretty good options to clean up audio and both are totally free!
