this story line is so true and down to earth. Most pop songs are about happiness or breaking up with your ex, but this song is about a teenage mother trying to bring up her baby and keep him safe whilst she tries to bring a bit of money in by pole dancing and entertaining men at a pub. The dad's not there and she's trying to bring up her child so he can have a nice life unlike hers. It's one of those songs that you have to really listen to the lyrics to actually know what the song's about. It's sad but it has a great tune. My favourite song at the moment.

I find this song is especially beautiful because i was dumped in front of an adoption center or whatever when i was only a few month old. when I first heard this song, I loved the tune. english is not my native language so the lyrics actually went over my head for a few times. then one time I happened to catch some words like "single mom" and "6 years old" and I wondered "what this song is actually about" and looked up the lyrics, and fucking cried because it made me realize I never really thanked my mom for all the sacrifices and hardships she's endured for me, and never let her know how much I appreciated it. I went home that night after work and hugged her and thanked her, told her I loved her. I told her I appreciate everything she's done for me. She was so surprised, and we hugged. This song actually changed our relationship. It strengthened it. It cemented it. Tell your mom you love her and you appreciate her. Tell her right now. Hug her, kiss her. Make sure she knows, understands. She's the one who sacrificed her blood, sweat, youth, career, health, money, sleep; quite literally everything, and fed you, clothed you, fed out out of her own breast, to bring you to life, to this day, and make you the person you are now. A little gesture of appreciation goes a really long way.

I really do believe that the pole dancing that this mother does as a job in this video also symbolizes all the jobs that mothers have to do that aren't socially acceptable,all the struggle at any point in order to raise their babies(because let's face it,we're always babies to them).
