This is a process to clean or break in a new brushed motor. If your motor is making a squealing noise it most likely needs to be lubricated at the ends of the motor, and it is a good idea to also clean it.

Funny how the first video I find on this ends up being a redcat gen 8 motor like mine doing the same thing, I think the previous owner ran it around or in a pond because it had fishing line wrapped around the wheel hexes and muddy water in the wheels
