For those of you that don't know, the orange beeping that the OG xbox does means you don't have a AV cable plugged in while the console is powered on.

Hold the power button for two beeps and it will automatically sync to your tv video settings(PS3). When plugged in using rca the tv will only recognize rca, so after if you plug a hdmi cord in…it will appear black…cause the video was synced by that connection…for future finds bro… I dig you video man…much respect. I used to come up cause people would think there system was broken…

Ooohh I’m keeping this noted thanks! I was definitely confused and I probably would have wrote it off as broken but earlier in my reselling I did that with a backwards compatible ps3 and someone told me the fix. Kind of painful I sold a working backwards ps3 for $60 but that was the cost of the lesson I guess. Appreciate you!!

The console doctor is in the house. Any opportunity to turn a profit is an opportunity well worth taking advantage of. Besides the more you clean and repair consoles the more you learn about how they operate and what you need to do in order to have them in perfect working condition. So keep the progress up and keep bringing a second life to these consoles that desperately need to be played by the gamers that want them.

so about the Xbox's flashing orange light. it will do that if no av cable is connected, it does a check when it's booted for the cable and won't actually boot into the bios unless there is one!

Try flipping that ps2 slim upside down when it's loading . Seriously. There is some weird thing with the middle hinge that...... hell 😂 I can't remember. Saw it on a KZbin video when mine stopped playing. Just saying, might not be the laser. 👍

You can source replacement lasers for the PS2's pretty easily, and relatively cheaply (compared the the overall sell price). Just need to do some research which laser to buy for the type of ps2 you have. That might cut into your profit margins though if ebay is taking 25%. That hurts. Otherwise it's always nice to have a spare parts :P. Additionally, I really dig how you tested both PS2 and PS1 games on the PS2. The lasers on them are super sensitive. My personal PS2 as an example runs CD games only, but can't read DVDs anymore. Any situation like that is indicative of the laser dying though.

Yeah I kind of looked into it before and it seems that you have to do a little bit of soldering because there’s some kind of security thing that needs to be burned off. I read that you could just heat up a screwdriver and do it with that but KJ wasn’t against that method 😂

It would be a super simple way to start learning soldering. Makes me wonder if buying those lasers in bulk would make that worth it? Given how often PS2s disc lasers die. You got this dude, no matter which path you take. Either way you scored a decent profit in this run :D
