I get overwhelmed with things in my place too and then just get discouraged. Also, getting a depression room is a big thing. When I'm down my home definitely reflects that. Don't be hard on yourself and be proud for what you DO do.

I suffer from anxiety and depression and one tip that has helped me tremendously keep up with cleaning is realizing you do not have to do it all at once. Like put a few clothes away or do a few dishes. It helps me feel at least a little productive but not completely overwhelmed. 💜

I totally feel ya with the clutter thing. I also have anxiety and depression so when I’m in a bad funk it gets especially bad. You can visibly tell I’m feeling better when my area is clean.

Girl life happens! We’ve all been there when our house or apartment is trashed! But honestly I love cleaning and watching this video makes me want to run to you and clean your place! oh alyssa, i really feel for you, don't be too hard on yourself. i'm in a similar situation. living with my boyfriend's mom who is also depressed hasn't been easy. there's tons of OLD clutter and boxes with literally nowhere for it to go, in every room except ours. the entire kitchen counters and sink are completely covered in dirty dishes but there's no room in the cabinets so they've been there for months. my bf and i lived here a few years ago and finally got our own apartment, but when covid hit we lost everything and had to come back. the carpets and dust are so bad i had 3 asthma attacks the first two weeks after we moved back in until i "adapted" again. not to mention the house is really old and deteriorating and has no central heat and air. so we deal with freezing temps and literal rats all winter, and then burning texas heat and a plethora of bugs during the summer. i've had company over once all year and had a complete breakdown after because i was so embarrassed. i'm not saying this at all to undermine your problems, i totally understand, i just never really get to talk about what we're going through. i'm unemployed again so bills are piling up while we're worrying about how we're going to eat every day. i guess i just wish i had my own space again, but i feel so stuck. i would do anything to be able to declutter this mess and be able to decorate and enjoy my space. but the clutter isn't my stuff so i have no idea where to even begin. anyways i'm sorry for the rant. i love your videos and i hope cleaning up made you feel better! you are living my dream with all your cute stuff and your cute animals :)) i know depression and anxiety is the worst and im so so sorry we have to deal with it

I thoroughly believe in tidy space tidy mind. I really struggle with clutter and cleaning. But will get random bursts to just get everything sorted. My mental health is 1000x better when everything is put in it’s place and packed away neatly. It can take a lot out of you mentally and physically to clean, I find laundry particularly difficult. But it takes time, and you’ll get there 🤍 Also having a reason to clean such as putting up decorations or having someone over definitely helps as there’s a purpose to what you’re doing. Hope things get better for you 🥰

I try to keep my place clean but there are days where I can’t get out of bed and shit gets messy. I always feel insecure about the mess but yeah, I’m glad I’m not alone with that.

I feel yuh! I also struggle with cleaning...also with routine and keeping consistent. I'm exactly the same way with moving things around. I put tons of random stuff into boxes to set aside and go through later but never do...so much boxes of such random stuff that its overwhelming...I'm constantly overwhelmed by it. Having little space and no proper storage has plagued me for years. We are a family of 6 with 3 cats in a 3 bed 2 bath townhome...sounds big but it's not. The only storage we have is the bedroom closets and that's for our clothes and such...not the seasonal items and things we'll keep forever but dont always have out or have out at all...things like books, keepsakes etc. We've been using our extra bathroom for storage and my partner and I gave up our walk in closet for storage and there's still not enough room. I dont believe it's to much stuff...its just a lack of space and proper storage 🙂

whenever I need to clean, tidy or do laundry I grab my wireless speaker or wear headphones and put on my favourite songs to listen to with the volume VERY loud 😂, I find it motivates me to keep going and to not get distracted by background noise. I use to hate cleaning and had a problem with clutter but something that helped me was to stop buying knick nack type of things or just stuff I don't need. The more you buy the more you have to find a home for it. If I wanted to buy something I would stop and think 1. Do I really need it? 2. Where would I put it?/ is there something I can get rid of to replace it? This type of thinking really helps when you're in a small apartment like yours

Oh gosh, you are not alone with the overwhelming clutter. Depression and awful anxiety made my space the same way. When I had my own apartment it was a nightmare. I hate even looking back on it because I kept things so messy, and it made me feel guilty and crappy all the time. I’m living with my parents again now, and I just have my bedroom to worry with. I’ve been able to keep it cleaner because I got rid of a ton of stuff and it’s a small room anyway. It’s a constant battle, though. I feel for you. I think your space looks awesome all cute and decorated!! Just know you’re not alone at all when it comes to having a hard time keeping things clean and neat. And don’t beat yourself up about it because life is just hard sometimes.
