A good video. In some places the gold is much finer. So fine that jet dry is not sufficient to stop gold to float. In this case I use some Isopropanol. The big disadvantage is that the fumes are very nasty. So panning can be done outside only. In top of that you have keep the solution in a good closed container that the isopropanol is not evaporating. Hope that help’s to somebody.

Dan "Pan Demonium," Hurd! Super satisfying to see that black sand pulsing down the pan and cascading off the lip of the pan. I have watched some miller table and other cleanup videos. very nice demo. would be interesting to see your results if you did again with the same dirt but with the usual technique so we can see how all that gold would be missed. Also it seems that plastic is too slippery and the riffles too rounded, I would think a different material would work better (faster).

I think I would rather use a pan with a rim that is twice as wide and a smaller center circle that is half the diameter. I could spread the cons out over larger size areas. Even an elliptical or rectangular shape with a wider rims and smaller center areas seem as to work faster and more efficiently. Just a thought.
@mohammednovalija6 жыл бұрын
i find a pan that has the bottom with a rise of just an eighth inch vertical before it flares out to be so much easier early in the panning (like a garret 14" amongst many other) and then later tranfer to one without it (like a garrett 10") - [WOW happy days , I just learnt how to edit my posts :)]

Hi Dan Great video, looking forward to the rest of the series. As someone from the UK that visits Canada occasionally and only done a little panning in the past, I wonder how do you move on your gold once you have enough to pay for further adventures? Are there gold merchants that buy it? Do you need a claim in order to sell it? I heard that you did not need a claim for placer gold, do you need to grade the gold by size first or smelt it into ingots or nuggets etc. I would be interested in a video on that subject as I have not come across any on the tube elsewhere. Pete.
