Barkeeper's Friend is my preferred method, but you don't need to use steel wool with it. It's abrasive enough with just a cloth towel. I don't bother worrying about the color on the outside, as long as the inside is good. Gives the pan character.

I don't know about that brand of pans, but I know calphalon voids their lifetime warranty if you use stainless wool.
