You should only rinse dirty side out so the dirt can come out. Rinse the other way will just push the dirt further in the filter. Oil should be applied on the side where air flows into the filter.

You are supposed to apply the oil on one side not both sides and definitely NOT soak it like you have done.

Its says on the paper in the box to not use anything to speed up the drying, just let it dry natural. That heater will only just melt the fabric, but you probably had it on low heat. but dont do that next time.

I just cleaned my K&N air filter today on my 2013 F150. I haven't cleaned it since I got it over a year ago. It was very dirty! It had black gunk in some areas and alot of rocks and debris. I almost thought of just throwing it away, but I cleaned it, and yes it's very satisfying! And my recharge kit came with the aerosl can spray. I soaked my filter from the dirty side to the front with the oil after I cleaned it from the clean side to the dirty side and air dried it out side for two hours. Very cool video man.

You're doing it wrong. You suppose to flush out from the clean side to the dirty side. You don't force water from dirty side to the clean side I guess you're not reading the instructions. Also, you suppose to wait at least 10 minutes to soak the filter with the cleaner. You don't washed away too soon right after applying the cleaner.

Fail. Oil only applied to the dirtier side. And rinse only from cleaner to dirty side

BTCKYLE kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWatpX-Cnqd3mMU if you watch the actual video made by kn, you rinse from clean side to dirty side. Doing it vise versa will force the dirt into the fibers of the filter. And oiling on the inside of filter will get sucked into the engine. Fail

looks very overloaded may cause you to run rich, you only need apply oil to one side and let it sink through why oil the side that is facing the engine as the engine will only suck the oil through the filter and onto you MAF sensor.

Just use a blow dryer and heat it up, it will loosen up the oil. Then just dab the filter with paper towel and your good. I would try purchasing the spray version of the oil.....much better :)

Hey Kyle, before putting it back try checking it against the sun. I did it and now I am very reluctant to put that K&N back into my Triumph ST3, as I see lot of pinholes which can let the dirt into the engine.
