Beautiful tank. My one critism would be you have no algae based filtration. I would never recommend anyone setup a marine tank without some sort of refugium. It's amazing what you can achieve with some chaeto and the right lighting.

Cheers mate! Algae based filtration isn’t always needed and quite a lot of large scale coral farms don’t use it either. As mentioned in the video I use the naturally occurring algae as a phosphate sink and it is regularly removed by either me or my fish. I also don’t feed any high phosphate foods. I can understand some people may require it but :)

@SydneyReefing those coral farms are likely using the rapid growth of soft corals to take up nutrients. I just think it's a good idea to have in any setup. Even if I was running a massive fish only tank, I'd have one. Don't get me wrong, your tank is gorgeous, I'd just add a little refugium.

How are you finding the Hydras? Mine burned through two sets of lenses in three years. I've switched to X4s purely for the "lifetime guarantee" on the lenses.

I really love my hydras and blades. The Uvs in mine have burnt a little bit but that doesn’t really bother me too much. UV does not really add any benefit to the photophysiology of the corals, it just makes them produce more chromoproteins to help them deal with the stress. If I was chasing brightly coloured corals this would be an issue but my tank is headed a different direction:)
