Some folks might mock the "Old" stuff but here is an example if it aint broke don't fix it. My Dad has used regular ol Turtle Wax liquid that you can buy over the counter. He has been using it since forever. My Mom has a 2001 Lexus IS300 they bought new in 2001. Its a pearl white, and my Dad applies the Turtle Wax at the beginning of each Season, so 4 times a year. 21 years later my Mom's car still looks new and is all original paint. Its just a testament of not what you use, but how often you use it. You like a product? Just use it, and use it often.

I originally bought a bottle of waterless wash and wax to keep in the boot for quickly removing bird poo. After finding it did a great job I started using it as a weekly maintenance wash at lunchtime at work (whatever day has the best weather). I can get the car done in 20 mins now (using about 20 towels). Now I only wet wash the car properly once a month.

Just a few issues as a guy running a waterless wash business in the UK never ever do swirling motion even with a wet wash with shampoo second the bits around the lights and groves etc use a detailing brush like you would with a wash also use as a mist spray not on jet cover the whole panel first wipe one way then buff off 👍 I'm fully booked for weeks to come as a business it's so cost effective and game changer
@CarCleaningGuru2 жыл бұрын
Swirls aren’t circular, they’re tightly-knit straight scratches that appear circular in direct light so it makes no difference which motion you use. I agree that with a decent rindless wash or more watery waterless wash you should saturate the panel first but this thick, old school stuff only streams so can’t really do that.
@carologywaterlesscarwash20542 жыл бұрын

I believe many of those products have their place and their limitations. I've used thrm on work vehicles for one.. already swirled and scratched so no major concern there and they're certainly cleaner afterwards!
@HxTurtle2 жыл бұрын
clear coat is quite soft (also depending on manufacturer .. there's quite some differences) and gets scratched easily. that's the simple basics. however, what maybe gets a little overlooked is, that clear coat isn't always the "last" surface (most is the times, it isn't). or in other words, how "safe" it is to use such products strongly depends on how you "preconditioned" your car. a little layer of wax can "fight" off small dust particles that would otherwise swirl up the paint. but it's in itself not very "hard" (but has the ability to "cure" itself, so it'll never show any signs of swirls on its own) and will get wiped away somewhat quickly. more modern polymer sealants are harder and also come off harder, i.e., lasting longer. and if you happen to have gotten you car ceramic coated, then you also don't need to worry about swirls anymore (for years to come, that is). same goes for wraps or clear bras. just saying. so like I've read in comments here: if you got a decent new vehicle, live in a water restricted area and still wanna keep it squeaky clean without worrying too much, you might just think about a ceramic coating. it's a one time thing, basically .. but gives you peace of mind.

Me too. 85% of washes have been with Williams but I always rinse with hydroshot first. (I've had the vehicle from new for 4 years. One front end repair so it could of been them)

I've recently used some Tripple Wax equivalent. Quite watery (dark green in colour) but also quite cheap. I admit, given the cheapness, I did soak each panel with product, gently wiped off then buffed with a fresh microfibre. I've been quite impressed. There is definitely a slight filling quality with the Tripple Wax product because the gloss black window surrounds looked almost swirl free afterwards (didn't last long to be fair). Not sure I'd used on a heavily soiled car though. Save water - yes - time? Not so sure cos I think you'd want to clean more often to avoid heavy soiling. I found the whole process quite rewarding in a way, no hoses or buckets - more like polishing furniture than cleaning a car. Great video as always.

I think the best rule of thumb for waterless wash products, they should only be used for the most minor of filth. Really, only where a proper wash isn't possible. For example, for cleaning off the dust picked up on the drive to a cars and coffee or similar event.

Lots of folks could have the best and most expensive, efficient, etc. equipment, tools and chemicals, but you still would do a much better job than them - even if you can use only a piece of dogsh*t. 😉🤜🏻💥🤛🏻😎
