Very nice! I always take a cockle and put little minis inside of it in the bathroom. Nice jars. 🌴🌸🐚

Your shells are beautiful and the display is nice. There is a lady that cleans shells with muradic acid one part acid, 3 parts water, and the white calcium comes right off the hard to clean ones and the shell is a bright color.

Wow! I want to go shelling with you!!! That is an amazing haul. What time of the year were you in Sanibel and how long do you look for shells each day? Aaand how do you manage to bring all those home without breaking them???

These shells were from a February trip. I have been in June and September and got amazing shells. Each trip is different, just depends what the tide brings in. I look for shells first thing in the morning, have breakfast, look for shells again, go shopping, look for shells again lol. Since we always stay in a hotel on the beach it is easy to take a couple of minutes to walk to the beach and look for shells. I usually only hunt for about an hour at a time before I am ready to do something else. Shells are pretty sturdy. I just put them in ziploc baggies and shove them in my suitcase around clothes so they don't move around during transport. If they are delicate like sand dollars, I wrap them in paper towels and put them in plastic containers. Sand dollars are the only treasure that has broken during transport. I just bring lots of plastic bags and small plastic containers.

How do you travel back home via airplane with a ton of seashells?
@80sToyHunter2 жыл бұрын
I put them in my checked luggage. I bring small plastic containers (like food storage containers) to put the shells in and then pad the containers with tissue if there are any loose spots. Shells make it home no problem. Delicate shells I will wrap individually in tissue paper. Bigger shells I just put in plastic baggies.

I decorate my bathrooms with them. If you search through my videos, I posted a video two weeks ago showing my master bathroom decorated in shells.

What beaches did you get these from?
@80sToyHunter5 жыл бұрын
These shells are mostly from the beach within 1 to 2 miles of the Island Inn on Sanibel. If you aren't staying at a hotel, there is also public beach access within a mile of the Island Inn too.
