I am NOT a hoarder. My mom was a massive hoarder. You had to see all the stuff to believe it. She’s 91 now and my sisters and I have managed to get her to throw away a couple of pickup truck loads. There’s at least 2 large dumpsters of stuff she kept. She refused to let go of it. Most of it is useless. It’s a shame because it’s truly a mental disorder. She lived through the depression and it really affected her. At least all of this stuff was useable.

Hoarding comes in different levels. Just because your mom’s hoarding was bad and looked different doesn’t mean you don’t hoard
@CarnivalGhoul
@CarnivalGhoul Жыл бұрын
@@TheTlangdon You can also hoard useable stuff. I mean, just look at those people who use a shit ton of coupons all the time - the ones who just keep going out once or twice a week to buy hundreds of dollars worth of stuff just so they can get it all for $15 or whatever. All of that stuff is useable - such as laundry stuff, food, drinks, bedroom stuff etc. but they just keep on buying it and packaging it up as them being "money smart" when they aren't and instead just have a shopping addiction and hoarding problem. One person can just hoard dolls while another person hoards cans of beans - but those are still hoarding problems. You cannot write off someones hoarding just because it happens to be usable. That being said, I really don't think Mia nor her mom are hoarders, though I could be wrong as they didn't show every single second of their day on camera, but their lack of an emotional response and with their ease of cleaning it lends me to believe they just have a lot of stuff and "hoarding" sounds, weirdly, better than "pack rat" which is what they are. Hoarding is psychological - like you mentioned - but again, just because it's usable doesn't mean its any less of a problem.

I love watching Mia's mom reacting to her jokes/mistakes/mischievousness. A household of people who were all obviously raised in happy, loving, positive, and most importantly, relaxed families. Everyone's so chill and encouraging and forgiving and have good sense of humour, and that's exactly what makes Mia's videos standout among all KZbinrs: her personality. That's literally the best gift parents can give to their children. I feel jealous, and I'm sure anyone raised in an Asian family will understand what I mean. lol

I’ve definitely been procrastinating for so long and watching this was so satisfying and gave me some motivation to finally get started! ❤️ I’ll always love any video you put up Mia, don’t worry too much about what your viewers want to see, we’re always happy with your videos! Do Canadian storage units come with actual shelving? That huge wooden shelving unit was amazing. And the vaulted roof gave you so much more room. In the US, you pretty much get a cube of space with just walls and a flat roof/ceiling. Such a nice storage unit!

She probably paid extra for that. Most standard storage units are a certain size and small. Other units - like one that is 40ft!! 😱- can look a lot bigger and nicer like this. She paid for the nicer unit with extra storage capabilities

This may be an odd comment, but I could totally see my mom and I being friends with you guys. My mom would have just loved your mom, and the dynamic you two have is similar to what my mom and I had. It's a little bitter sweet watching you two together but I love it. It's like watching you guys do the things I don't have the chance to anymore. You both have beautiful spirits and I just want to thank you for your wholesome mama-daughter content ❤

Honestly i just couldn't get through tp the end of this video when i tried watching it about 4 times before..because of how much I kept crying and just grieving a childhood and an adulthood i never had and still don't. To have so much love and light and relaxed family dynamic and just parents who don't take life so seriously..i wish and still to this day cry like a baby that I'll never know what it would feel like..to have so much talent and not being able to make anything of it..to not be mentally sick and live a full functional life..all these are just dreams.. Keeping my personal feelings aside..its so great to see anything you put out Mia. I love watching you and anything with Mama Maples in just to hear her laughing..only love and light be upon your beautiful family. Lots of love❤
