Those little red and blue discs are ammunition for toy guns that shoot those. We all had them in the 70's.

Great Video as always Dominic. Another thing I love to keep around is contact cleaner for cleaning out electronics and battery compartments. It is safe to spray directly onto even a circuit board and it will not cause damage. It can also be used to clean out crevices on plastic items it won't damage the plastic.

Also those discs you were showing are from a toy from the 1960s - 1970s called a tracer gun. They shoot out those little discs spinning. Link here - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tracer_gun

I have my original ship from 1979. It was played with heavily by a legally blind hyperactive kid, so it has issues. I’m currently looking for spare parts. I have the main part and a few of the accessories. I will never sell since means so much to me. My parents were unemployed in 1979, and we were living with my grandparents. My parents could not afford this and I really wanted it. My grandparents who were able to help out Santa Claus. It was the best Christmas ever.

Hey bro, just thought I'd let ya know, those blue and red plastic disks are projectiles for a spring loaded plastic gun. You'd load up like twenty of those things stacked and pule back the spring trigger and shoot at your favorite best friend!! My fav toy as a kid!!

As a SW collector and someone who cleaning hundreds of these ships in the 1990s while working at a vintage toy store, it is very frustrating when an antiquer finds one of these and attempts to sell it without cleaning it. Want $100 for your Falcon? You have to spend a good hour cleaning it or else it is NOT worth that amount. Q tips help in the nooks as well. Oh, and it has to be complete or close to it:)

PT - I appreciate the cleaning tools and techniques and stuff but the lesson of value that I took away with me is to make a good effort in every step of the process which you always do ... be it sourcing, listing, networking, packing, or preparing an item for sale. It's easy to rush things but when you take a little time and make a good effort chances are greater to maximize profits even when it's as simple as cleaning an item before taking photos. BTW sometimes Q-tips and a little alcohol for some of those hard to get nook and cranny stains.

Great point on the Q-tips yes. And yes, taking your time can make a real big difference!

I see the same thing over and over , people only wash with soap and water , that's fine , but they are not retroblasting it , this process will restore these old ships back to the original color , like the falcon he supposedly restored it should be white , it's not , i do concierge restores , but those people will learn one day how to restore not just clean .
