Cleaning the Flint Wheel on a Vintage Storm King Lighter Restoration

A subscriber asked me how to clean a flint wheel that’s fixed on a rivet. So I made this video to answer that question. I hope it will also help them and many more fellow KZbinrs.

What was the spray cleaner you used?

On this video it was WD40. Decompress very lightly, and slow to avoid making a mess.

hey, im back after losing hope and motivation to fix this thing lmao. I think the issue isnt the wheel but more so the metal right under the wheel that holds the flint in place. It looks like somehow the a side of the metal piece got torn open and I have no Idea how I'd fix this. Do you know of a way to get the top of the lighter off? or maybe just the wheel?

It just hit me, is the spring tip on the spring? The flint needs to rest evenly on its top. If it’s missing or been ground down because the lighter was being struck without a flint. That can cause your flint to jam under the flint wheel. Check this option out. Best of luck
