Cleaning the Signal Corp BC342 Receiver from WW2

n this video I show some tubes I received today one was Russian in Manufacture. Then I begin cleaning the Signal Corp BC342 Receiver that was made in 1944 but after cleaning you can read the stencil on the from where it was jungle treated on April 16,1945. Then I go out in the garage and show you the cabinet after I got most of the paint off the plate inside the cabinet that had a circuit diagram of the radio and parts list.

Sovtek tubes were a staple in guitar amps back in the 80s. Cleaned up really well.

Yes they are good tubes and cheaper than the US Counterpart so figured worth a test. Yes this one unlike the R336 that was similar to this one that I had to paint this one from WW2 is in better shape. It does not have any cut wires like the R336 had so I am suspecting it may work fine.

Yes I was surprised it wasn't as bad as the last radio I had to repaint that one about the only part of this radio that needs painting is the bottom of the cabinet.

Thanks for sticking with me Slimfire. Yes I know I have not done any gun videos only because i have more electronic projects and my rebuild of the stock for the 1916 Mauser failed. Everything was just off far enough to be not useable so its trash $95 down the drain on that one.

Yeah he is small enough that's for sure. I think the other speaker I made i might be able to use it on this radio since it has a normal jack.

I can't use that stuff. When I use it I get simply green.

well it worked pretty well I bought a spray bottle just for this purpose in mind.
