Someone erased my story here, so I am going to have to repeat myself. This story is related to the movie Josey Wales, in case some of you don't know it. My Great-grandfather was born in Tennessee in 1859. He was the third oldest out of 6 children. His parents died at the beginning of the Civil War. They were simply trying to raise a family. Many civilians were killed because they wouldn't take sides. Nobody wants to hear that, but it's a fact. Clint Eastwood portrays Josey Wales, a farmer who was just trying to farm his land and raise a family, like my Great-grandfathers family. He was raised by another family and at 18 made his way to the West coast on the Oregon trail. He eventually made it to his homestead, met my Great-grandmother and had my grandma. My Great-grandmother was a school teacher. They had much faith in God. When I was in the Army my Grandmother would write me letters telling me about her faith. You can erase this, but you won't have any success erasing God's word. Prayers and safety to you all during this Pandemic and in the future.

It is REALLY a fantastic thing that you have access to your family history like this. Just amazing and what a great story. Thanks for sharing. Im totally in the dark about my family tree. Marriages, divorce, adoptions, name changes, shuffling. All that. The most I know is who my Biological father is, and that's it.

His mother and father died in the beginning of the Civil War. He was taken in by a family that raised him until he was 18. Because, the Civil War was volitile, many civilians were killed, probably because they wouldn't take sides or chose the wrong side. They were darned if they do and darned if they didn't. Hey I agree the movies you talked about were great! However in my opinion the best western for me was “lonesome Dove” all the characters tugged at your heart! Some may think it was long , but for me I wish it was a couple of more hours! By the way love you guys, god bless you!

Conagher, The Cowboys, Tom Horn, Lonesome Dove, Unforgiven, The Gray Fox, The Searchers, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, Rio Bravo, Will Penny… I love westerns! The classics especially!

Oh Mr. Phil, I can well sympathize with you about towns!!!!! I live in the country but grew up with a Dad that moved around with construction work in towns/city's. I am 62 and when I have to go to town, 8 miles, for groceries and such I CANNOT wait to get back to the country!!!
