That is like right at the road crossing to my grandparents old house in the woods. They don't live there anymore, they passed away. But yikes that's crazy.

I worked a bunch of derailments when I worked for the railroad . One derailment had 18 tri=levels of vehicles , about 12 vehicles were damaged but by the time the side boom dozers ( side-winders ) got the rail cars moved there was only about 12 vehicles that weren't damaged . Man those clean up crews could tear stuff up . One box car had 350 engines ready to drop in the new cars on the assembly line and about 50 of them were knocked out of the box car . The clean up crew dug a big hole in the farmers field and shoved the new engine in the hole and covered them up . Hell of mess .

Lets see train was going about 70. Car derails the headend stops furst but the tonnage behind the derailment keeps pushing. Thats why cars went everywhere

yes I dont understand this....esp there's an amtrak coming from LA to Chgo within hours of when westbound amtrak wud of been there......seems crazy to send passengers from chgo back to chgo

If you think about it. it creates jobs by created clean up crews.
