Thank you sharing your experience, I'm one month out from the exam and 2 weeks out from my boot camp. I've been living, breathing, sleeping, eating CISSP the past two months. The nerves are starting to set in and I'm scared. The main thing is getting into mindset; I've trying to adopt an obsessive Kobe-like frame of mind to beat up, crush, and kill this exam so that (ISC)^2 will never be a threat ever again to me providing a better life for my wife and dogs.

Thank you so much for your help and valuable resources. I plan to take the CISSP exam within 3 weeks and I plan to pass it on the first time. There’s a lot of boring material for Cybersecurity Professionals in general and my mind doesn’t remember boring, monotonous information too well, but I’m planning to use the resources you listed so that I can pass this CISSP exam.

When the reading gets boring it would be nice to mix it up with trying a few pratcise questions from the domain you just completed or currently doing. That way it will test your memory and also take away the repititive action. All the best !!!

Gold video.. Thanks a lot for explaining the mindset stuff. I am also a techie and going through the same transitioning phase. When I get a question wrong, this makes me think of it why I got it wrong and I use to think about it until I understand. I don't know how I will do in exam but the hard part as you said is the book reading. I am just stick with my plan. The notes were taking too much of time for me while reading the book so I just started highlighting the important points in book. But really I enjoyed and gave me relief that If i am not scoring well I should keep going. In the review questions at the end of chapters I am scoring between 82 to 90 but still think I am forgetting many things from previous chapters but I committed to keep going. Thanks a lot Sam. Thanks a lot. Please do mention your linkedin here, in description or on facebook post.

Glad to know it helped. When facing a tough situation what will help you is the amount of practise and hard work that you have put in which will easily tick your brain to look for certain words even when you have absolutely no idea of what question says. All will be well champ. Fell free to connect with me on linkedin www.linkedin.com/in/sam-p-934217196/

Great video. I am in the CISSP Journey. Planning to take exam in three weeks. I am using the similar study materials you have mentioned. Regarding practice test, I am almost done with Sybex official practice test, Boson and pocket prep. Do you recommend any other sources for practice questions. Thank you very much.

HI Cenil you are doing the right things. There are Luke Ahmed questions , Ccure is very popular and Mike Chappel questions are popular as well. Have a read at their reviews. Main thing to fix your mindset . Please see this video on how to train your mind to go through the 3 hours on exam day. All the best kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6jZkmSwbLiApsU

What would you recommend for someone with no IT experience to pass this exam?
@SecurityMadeSimple
@SecurityMadeSimple 2 жыл бұрын
HI There. Its actually recommended to have at least 1-2 years IT experience before attempting this exam. Doing CISSP in itself if of very less value until you can actually relate this to your job so the concepts you worked so hard to master in CISSP can actually take effect. Its also easy to grab concepts in CISSP if you can relate it to something you are already working on. There are multiple youtube videos of people obtaining CISSP with at least 1-2 years of experience. Again this is my personal opinion and hope this info helps. Stay safe !!!

Congrats!!! I sit for my test on Monday. My plan of action is similar to yours; however, I started with less time. I have used Kelly's videos on Cybrary, Mike Chapple's on Linkedin, taken a lot of practice exams, and Luke Ahmed's Think Like a Manager. Luke's questions on Study Notes and theory are great for the mindset, but not so great for my confidence level. Hit a lot of Prabh's and Luke's videos on concepts for clarification. Very nervous about the test! But confident.

@SecurityMadeSimple 2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate... your feelings expressed here are completely understandable and normal. Being nervous is good, it shows that you really care about this exam however at the exam centre try to be present during each and every question . As per the video i posted along with all other videos i've seen, expect to see questions you dont know , expect to see more questions you have underprepared for and realise those things are expected. Knowing about the unknowns that will followin an exam is a perfect antedote for nervousness. The big thing you need to follow is the art of being present. Once you have completed an answer tick and move on , dont ever think about previous question after that as you can never change what is already completed and can never worry about future things that never happened. Your hardwork will pay off , find the words that makes senses in places where you have no clue about the answers and your hardwork will do the rest. Please rest on the final day as clarity in mind is required to keep nervousness at bay and also to think clearly in tough situations. Good luck and let us know how you go 👍👍

@@SecurityMadeSimple I passed!!!! By question 25 I started rehearsing how I was going to tell my wife I failed... Then I stopped took about 2 minutes to remind myself that those questions are in the past, I can't do anything about it now. Just chugged till the test stopped at question 115!

@@drootopia Halleuluiah this is an amazing feeling,,well done mate. Glad for you to respond back especially the mindset bit which is the most important factor when you get lost. I will be creating another video purely on mindset to help more and more people get through the hurdle just like you and me. Well done once again , enjoy the feeling 👍👍
