Absolutely fantastic job of video and editing. One of your most enjoyable videos to date! Love the camera angles that you have chosen. Gives the viewer a great perspective of the cockpit. I have to compliment the professionalism of ATC. They are what make aviation safe and enjoyable! Loved the "BIG SQUEEZE" as you call it to get into the cockpit. You will never gain weight as long as you continue to fly the Premier! GREAT JOB GREG!

Very interesting, and while realize those busy corridors you often fly are probably filled with that amount of ATC chatter, dislike when you can't even get a squawk in. Plus when you have a ATC controller that busy, one always has to wonder about errors. Great job as usual..and a BIG shoutout to Glen K. for his work editing this video!

Although not a pilot, I’ve been looking around ForeFlight and I’ve been fascinated by all the airspace - I inputted EGCC to EIDW, EINN and EIKN in the flight planning tools (obviously did not submit a flight plan) but it was amazing to see all the different routes in the U.K. and Ireland - I know from commercial flights as a passenger that one is barely at FL25 in the A321 from Manchester before one is descending towards Dublin and amazing views of the Irish coast

Biggest thing I see done that is difficult single pilot is more than two things at once. For instance, "390GM cross 60 west of VHP at 10,000 Indy altimeter 29.81". It doesn't sound difficult here, but single pilot in the plane its a lot to remember if you aren't expecting it. Now, "N390GM cross RACYR at 10,000 Indy altimeter 29.81" is completely different. RACYR is already in the FMS so its a much easier thing to remember and comply with.

Excellent video as always, I am a huge fan. I think the length of the video is perfect. I would love to see more closeups of the FMC when you are programming the route and entering performance data, as well as when you set a VNAV offset altitude constraint. I would like to see the actual button presses and FMC screen. I would also love to see the actual startup procedure with a closeup of you starting engines, turning on avionics, entering landing field altitude, etc. Thanks so much I'm an avionics nut. You make private pilots like myself inspired to keep going and hopefully fly a jet! John Gaffney

Hi, Greg. Enjoy watching your videos. They're almost as good as the ones The Baron pilot does. ;) Wink. Wink. I'd like to ask you what you probably consider stupid questions. What exactly is FL400? I looked it up on wikipedia and what it says is that Flight Levels is an aircraft's altitude at standard air pressure, expressed in hundreds of feet. So when they say FL400 you would think it would mean 40,000 feet but not necessarily. How does flight level relate to the actual altitude of the aircraft. Does the plane's computer do the calculations to give you the actual altitude? One of the items on my bucket list is to sit in the right seat beside you and fly the plane. Hopefully BEFORE I croak. LOL!
@gregmink4 жыл бұрын
It is 40,000'. The altitude is MSL or mean sea level which references the height above sea level. Although the altimeters are all set at 29.92 in the States once at 18,000' and above. Thus the actual height may not be 40,000', but something different depending on the barometric pressure. It is really irrelevant though since everyone is using the same altimeter setting.

Non-pilot here....at 2:10, you do a hand signal that looks like pulling your fist away from the open hand. What does that signify to the ground guy?
@gregmink4 жыл бұрын
To unplug the ground power unit. It is referred to as a GPU and allows the airplane to start without using it's own power. And on summer days, more importantly it allows for air conditioning before starting engines.
