Let me share my experience with school teachers. I dated and had short relationships with 3 of them. One a preschool, one an elementary school and one a high school teacher. I also met many of their colleagues and I came to the conclusion that teachers for all their scholastic and academic qualifications aren't when it comes to common sense aren't the brightest lights in the store.
