Clear vs Silicone vs Leather Apple MagSafe case | How to Choose?

The first iPhone accessory I put on my new iPhone is a MagSafe case. Are Apple’s official iPhone cases worth getting? Let's look at all 3 today: the clear case, silicon case in elderberry, and the leather case in ink. I share what I like and don’t like about each one and which one I end up using the most over the years.

Thanks so much. Wonderful video! I bought the Clear Case directly from Apple for my iPhone 14 Pro. Phone fell 2 feet from my workout when I was changing song onto rubber flooring. LED vertical line damage. Brought it to Apple Store.... they fixed it for free but told me to get a silicone case from now on for more protection. I took your advice from another comment and just ordered a Clear ESR Classic Case from Amazon. Seems to offer more protection for falls!

@@Tech4Baba it's pretty good so far. I like the buttons on the sides and the feel is great like you said as well. I like that it's as close to the deep purple as possible!

I had 2 silicone cases and they didn't look very good after one year of usage, I guess it should be even worth with leather. This time I'm going for the clear case. I've already bough a Chinese mate clear case, it wasn't cheap but the magsafe is not aligned in the right position and is unusable. Now going to buy original clear case.

The problem with the silicone case is that it gets stuck in your jeans because it’s so abrasive. After just a few months of use, the underside of the silicone ripped and broke in half removing the phone from my pocket. Over a period of time pulling and pushing the phone in to your jeans pocket, the material weakens. I don’t have this problem with the leather and silicone cases and as a bonus, I’ve also noticed that the magnet is stronger when using the apple wallet (which covers the magnets on the clear case).

I find that insignias silicone cases are better and last a lot longer compared to Apple’s Silicon cases. I’m not a fan of leather cases because they make the phone look disgusting after a while. Claire cases are nice across-the-board though.

Leather is Porous so it isn't 100% waterproof, and will absorb water and deteriorate over time if submerged or soaked and not fully dried, silicone is 100% waterproof and will not absorb or deteriorate due to water. Don't go swimming with your leather case

I think the quality of the silicone case has taken a big hit. It seems to chip and dent really easily this year. I had a fairly minor drop, and the corner of the case broke off allowing the phone to get scratched. Even carrying the case in my bag in its own separate, padded pocket with nothing else in it (was using a different case on the phone at the time) it got dented somehow.

I have the clear and red silicone on my iPhone 14 pro max. I like the red one but the clear is my favorite. Does the clear one for you like sometimes squeak in a way or make a noise when you are using the phone? Like it sounds its not on all the way but it is. Idk if I’m explaining myself clear

I’ve experienced the “squeak” sound that you’re saying with Apple clear case on my previous iPhone 11. That’s why I won’t get the clear one on my 14 pro. I’m going to stick with the silicone one or maybe get the leather. If I were to buy a clear case, I would probably get it from Spigen. I don’t like the Apple clear case, it feels weird on my hand like it was covered with oil it is so slippery.
