Hi Keenyn, I'm a Native American speaker from New Jersey living in Madrid, Spain teaching English to adults in companies, and I have found your videos very useful in my teachings, and my students love it! Thank you!! Also, a lot of this info you are providing is "new" to me ;0)

Hello Keenyn! I just wanted to post a message under one of your videos to let you know that I'm a big fan of your work. I'm a French 24-yo currently studying in the US, and, even if I can write and understand English without too much difficulty, I found myself struggling with the pronunciation more than once. Your videos helped me a great deal -- in fact, I think they are the best on KZbin when it comes to learning the American English pronunciation! I'm so happy I can now master the "R" sound, which is totally different than the French "R" I've grown up with. Thanks again and keep up the good work!

nice video. i finally can understand the difference between these two. i went to a college in the us when i was 21 yrs old and i really had a problem when my professors said them. i didn't know why i had never asked people to tell me the difference while i was there. i came back to my home country and had a chance to ask an american lady once but she said they were pronounced the same. that even made me more confused. now at least i know what to listen to.

These are good tips to remember, and use them for daily speaking and writing. Some ways they are confusing but they will sink in time. Thank you so much as always.

Soooo helpful indeed! I have seen one or two situations in which 2 Americans asked the other to repeat the can't/can so one was sure what the other meant. This happens when they're from different regions in the US. In south, they tend to pronounce longer vowels

I think it's much more useful for students of American English to learn that we don't stress can( it sounds like /kn/ instead) and we stress the main verb. With the negative, we stress can't a little more than the main verb. For example: I can/kn/ GO. I CAN'T GO.
