That product is not wide enough. Should be wider to drop down over the edge towards the floor of garage to protect more of the paint on the sill.

That is exactly what I was thinking. It's the edges/corners of the sill that get chipped and scuffed.

That’s all well and good on a straight and flat surface, what about folding it over the leading edge 15 mm ?

That thing doesn't look tough enough. If a shoe heel hits the sill it doesn't look like it can protect from dents.
