Love Grandma and GrandPa. They were so HAPPY. Some advice: SPEND AS MUCH TIME WITH THEM AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN. NOTHING is more important. The old saying - You never know what you have till it's gone - is so true. We always think we have plenty of time until we realize we didn't. Take them to lunch once in a while and spend quality time. You will NEVER regret it!!!
@catherinenelson41624 жыл бұрын
I second that. At some point they will be gone. You don't want to live with one minute of regret!

I am also in agreement. I know you already adore them :) I regret not asking more questions and learning more about their lives growing up, and your parents' lives as well. I missed out on a lot of that. Pick their brains!! Love your video (as always) and I am excited about Terry and your new tiny home! I know Frank will love it too.

I second the blanket idea. I started with none on our new sofa. I wish I would have started it on Day I. (We love our pets too). Your grandparents are absolutely darling. Are you able to figure a way to visit with them outside or some way that you don’t need to worry about spreading Coronavirus to them. One off-beat question: I am intrigued by your wedding rings. Do you mind sharing about them? Congrats on officially being married!

Suggestions: Am sure you've thought of it..and am sure you have these ideas in the back of your mind... 1. Before anything else.. after you've cleared the ground and put up a base for your tiny house.. Get the gravel first for your driveway.. (bottom layer size #3) a good road to your property is something once you do.. you'd not regret it.. no bumps.. no water potholes in the driveway.. and by winter.. the road will be properly flat.. so by then if you feel you need more gravel (upper layer #5 or 8) .. you can do.. that.. 2. since the property is on high ground..and in a storm or heavy rains the water will rush on the drive way going downhill corroding the mid ground dig drain along the driveway.. .. either by a hand shovel or with a machine digger..away from your property and away from the road... 3. Wear light color clothing.. getting you to sweat less or Spandex top, 4. Allie: if you're not wearing any eye protection.. wear a bug netting under the hat.. no bugs no wood chips flying in your eye direction and is breathable. 5. for wild area cleaning ..and backaches shoulder spine waist.... after warm shower (luke warm to ease the muscles)..try some herbal Wild Yam balm..you'd be good for the next day..... 6. Tea tree oil, though effective as a natural mold remover (expensive then other remedies) Unlike vinegar and tea tree oil, citrus seed extract (such as grapefruit) does not have an odor. Dilute about 20 drops of extract with 2 cups of water, mix in a spray bottle and spray onto the mold or moldy smelling mattress do not rinse., Ok thats too many suggestions.. i'll Shut-up. Stay safe.. GOD BLESS

Trent, you should get some chainsaw safety pants ( yes they are a real thing)! Chainsaws only obey the laws of physics and will (OFTEN) jump and buck back when you are cutting wood. Leg wounds are (a) serious, (b) very often life threatening, and (c) VERY messy. If you manage to cut your femoral artery, you'd bleed to death before you could even get to your truck...chainsaw safety pants can prevent ALL of those things. Please get a pair!!

Maintenance of chainsaw, always empty out the gas and oil mixture every time your done using the chainsaw. Also, run the chainsaw until the chainsaw is completely out of gas and oil mixture after every time you use the chainsaw. This will keep your chainsaw's carburetor in great condition. I second that. I’ve been lucky to never cut myself yet. I used a saw for years before I bought my first pair of chaps. The second day wearing them, I slipped and fell and the chain landed right on my thigh and shredded the chaps. Would’ve really messed up my leg if I hadn’t been wearing them.

When my grandparents cleared their piece of land together in the 1920s, my grandmother was right alongside my Gramps with a cross cut saw (no chain saws back then!), taking down trees, hauling and stacking. You two are making me think of them. They were married 71 years. They did everything together...his and her lawn mowers, his and her irons and ironing boards. The list is huge but they were always together on everything, best friends for life. I am so fortunate to have observed them and it is a gift to children and grandchildren to see this. i enjoy watching the 2 of you in the very same way ♥ PS. I know you are both young, but take a look on Amazon because they sell canned oxygen. I've seen a couple of channels where people traveling in RVs in places like the Colorado mountains have used them...for higher elevations and to avoid altitude sickness. With all the physical activity you are both getting, it may be a good boost for your bodies during the times you are at your land. Just a thought...

Looking great in your home on wheels. I am very much looking forward to your housebuild. One comment on your chainsaw activity: Would you please buy yourself a safety pair of pants (and shoes) when using the chainsaw... Over in Germany we need a certificate to cut down trees😉 Those pants have special fabrics and choke the chainsaw before reaching skin or bones. Sorry for this motherly advice🙏 Lots of love from good old Germany
@marcuskellum99124 жыл бұрын
Hey guys! Congrats on the channel. A couple things: Get a safety chainsaw hardhat. It combines a hardhat, ear protection and a face shield. Also get the chaps and a emergency tourniquet that you can wear on your belt. Chainsaws can hurt you in many ways. It looks like you guys are a fair bit away from a hospital, so it is better to be safe than disabled or worse. I have been to the hospital for chainsaw related injuries before, not fun. I am sure you could work out some tradeouts with vendors for the stuff. Also, consider cutting your felled trees down to your log sizes now. And consider splitting them now and putting them up in stacks to dry for the winter. Fresh wood splits with an axe and you can work it into your workout routine. Dried wood will not split. You will smoke your chainsaw chains trying to cut it to length. then you will have to get a splitter to have any chance at splitting it up into usable pieces. Try bringing the wood up to your best working height. "Bucking up" wood on ground level gets old fast. You can bring it up to your safe working height. Make a simple work bench, plop a log onto it, cut your sections, move the log cut your log sections, etc etc. Then you can give yourself a workout goal of splitting wood for 30 mins a day. I cleared a lot of oak trees in my day, and if you let it get dry you cannot cut and split it, thinly thing you can do is burn it at that point.

Small Blaze King woodstove. We live in Alaska, built a 16x20 cabin with loft. Never cold! Slept with the window open to cool down a few times. Has a thermostat, catalytic converter. No smoke.

I love your Grandma and since the apple usually doesn't fall far from the tree, I subscribed. You gotta' love her sense of humor. You either learn to laugh at life, or you'll wind up crying a lot. I like the laugh choice. I'm 75 and in good health and take no meds, probably because I like to laugh and I've always made a living playing music. The two best medicines there are!! You two seem to have a happy nature. Listen to each other and care about each other. It's a partnership. Hug each other a lot through out the day. Don't resist those moments. Good luck. New sub!

If you have a Tractor Supply, they always have Ladies Carhartt's. But serious check the thrift stores you never know what treasures you might find.

Definitely what Richard said. I have done similar work - clearing land, building strawbale houses, carpentry, etc. I am HARD on work clothes. Carhartts are the only ones I didn't kill almost instantly. Breathes, heavy duty, sheds dirt like mad. Yes!

Oh my goodness Trent and Allie, you both are amazing, I can't wait to see what your tiny house will look like, but I'm really liking Terry, love that sofa, the color is beautiful and fits that space good, I know that it takes up a lot of the space you opened up, but this is a necessary thing so you can lounge around and just chill. I'm really liking the bed space, it looks so good. I get a big kick out of your grandparents they are so cute and when grandma said "there's still time" then mimicked tearing the marriage license up and then said " I hope it lasts" then she smiled, I know she loves you both. So glad it's official, it would be a shame to have all those beautiful pictures and memories if it wasn't legal. I just love the humor the two of you bring to your channel, I think that's what makes it so much fun to watch. Take care, sending love and hugs, bye for now.
