Are you an idiot? Satya nadella did MS in computer science at university of wisconsin, and then MBA in university of chicago. Electrical engineering in manipal (btech) played no role in his career and his path to ceo. He could easily afford these expensive institutes thx to his father (a civil servant). See the chor one is true m8 , I got Ece in cat 2 ( which was my 10th choice btw , all the other choices where cse or It with cat 1 and 2 in vellore ) with a rank of 13176 . Great , but another person gets cse with 14.8 rank in cat 4 . LIKE , they want proof that u r willing to give more money , or else shouldn't they give me an option to move my category for cse , like it's kinda important . Either way Ece is a good branch , so I am ok with it , however my friend who got near 4 K rank is fkn offered Only ECE cat 1 when he opted mainly for cse . This situation is an important factor to consider before joining .

see, if you fill less priority choices in the counselling. definintely you will stand very less chances on landing to a random branch...And coming onto your friend's case, he might not have filled categ-2/3 priority choices as backup choices for his cse and also could have not selected all specialisations (which most top ranks think that they will easily get cse/IT categ-1)......It is very easy to get cse at 3-4k rank in vellore campus but you need to fill more choices as well as their backup priority choices,which neither u nor ur friend did. Edit INFO :-Vellore campus cse core Categ-1 closes just below 1k rank

There's nothing like 'scholarship' exactly, but if you're among the top 3 performers in your branch, you'll get award and monetary appreciation. 1st rank-20k, 2nd rank-15k, 3rd rank-10k (once every year, not semester wise)

@@nishantbaranwal1 well in the 2020-2022 batch the placements were really great I am sure it's near 98% some students opt for further studies of entrepreneurship so they don't sit for placements and most will get at least the mass recruiting companies that hire in huge numbers
