I can imagine how disappointed you were at losing those trees. When you were clearing, you pointed out all the trees you wanted to save, and when you did the original walk-through showing this and the pond sites how excited you were at all the beautiful trees. It still is gorgeous and with the pond is going to be very relaxing. Good job on the gate!🤣I enjoy your farm builds, thanks for sharing them.

That's going to be one beautiful view for cabin guests once the ponds full and grass surrounding it. The White Oak is absolutely beautiful, glad you saved it. The little Maple will fill out now with less competition for sunlight. It's top was growing towards the pond because of the trees Chris took down were blocking it.

It is looking good Chris. Even the improvements in that field is impressive. That one corner with all the rocks that was not productive looks to be producing now and the pond and cabin site look great. I might have to look at spending a few days when you get it built and listed. Living in town with neighbors is hard for me so a few days of private space in the woods near water is just what the doctor ordered. Soaking some sun and reading a book in a lawn chair is always nice when away from city sounds.

About the only thing I can say besides that's a beautiful spot.. I'd take those logs (and a few more from some of the other clearing jobs you do), find someone with a sawmill (like Diesel Creek Has) and cut those logs into slabs to use to use a cladding on the cabin to give a a truely rustic look that can't be beat. Not like they are more useful in other places.. and better than pulpwood too... Other than that, fun to see some of the work for yourself.

Here in East Texas we have both types - most forest are new some forest is older. Some OLD. Houses still have some old to OLD trees since time the town was cut out of the dense forest 100+ years ago.
