My husband disgnosed in March. Had issues for a few years. He brushed it off as getting older. Trip to er in Oct 21 found something in his scan. Took 6 months. Found out in march. Hugs to all searching for answers. Thank you for this video

Tell him to never give up hope and never stop fighting. Im 7 years since being diagnosed with IPF. Looking back I realize that I had symptoms many years be that. Im down to under 40% lung capacity. Im working with a major University Lung Transplant Program in my area and finally made it to the transplant list. I originally was was working with a small private group of Pulmonary Drs and for years wasn't seeing any positive results. I changed to a University program and it was the difference of night and day. They did more tests, they obtained grants for me to be able to afford new and more powerful meds. They now have me on the transplant list. The key to the future is about today. We need to stay in shape as best we can. We need to be "Well enough to be Sick" Transplant is a long process and the better condition we stay in, the better the post surgery will go.

@@HeavyHaul51 good luck to you thats amazing. Transplant was not option for my husband also couldn’t take the ofev his kidneys and liver took a hit. So glad you hanging in there. Hope you update us. On Facebook there are amazing stories on a private group there.

Hi. I'm in the US. My cough tears my big hernia worse but I put out tons of thick mucous. I have to spit in the little garbage can next to me. I only just now found out I have pf because it was on my discharge papers from getting an upper endoscopy. Nobody told me anything. I don't know when they made the diagnosis either.

This is probably one of the most relatable channels I have come across recently. So much information was given out. If you can’t afford the medication how can you get help I have an insurance but it won’t pay for it I have Lung fibrosis

Try to switch insurance and make sure they cover prediagnosed ailments... if it's employer provided, look for a new job and ask in the interview process (some companies have the info on their website so you know nkt to apply there) what company they use. Then you can research their policies on that specific diagnosis, what treatments it covers and doesn't. I wish you the best, insurance companies job is to avoid having to pay... sadly.
