I think with this map they should’ve kept it all a mystery. Have us explore the school trying to find the shooter, and as we search we find survivors and dead bodies having to call them in. We find the shooter but he’s already dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound. The whole map being just atmosphere, the wonder if we’re going to run into the shooter or not. I think that would work well seeing as how atmospheric and dark this game can really get

BTW you can order the compliant suspects/civilians to move towards you or even to an other location, so you don't need to carry them anymore! I love this and I think it is one of the best additions to 1.0 although it is a small but it is an authentic tactic to get them off a tough spot, without endangering your self to a threshold. Also more convenient. ;) Also also, I noticed you can tell civies to run for an exit if you dont cuff them, I think it would have been handy in this map, but I played this map before noticing that. Since those terrorisers may execute arrested civvies if they come across them.

@@NithinJune it was quite unintuitive, but there is only a few options before you cuff them, It might have been under "move" selection in the bottom. I cant remember what it was exactly called. Also, you might have to go and cuff them after you secured the mission area, at least for me only some of them were cuffed automatically when they ran to the spawn zone in the Gas station mission.

Also i thought they were supposed to implement trailers who bag evidence and take care of civilians once you've cleared a few rooms? I think the problem people have is that Ready or Not shows more of the human side of things. In other words, it gives a life and a voice to the victims of these attacks. But for R6’s case it’s just, “teehee chemical bomb go off and operator goes save them” R6 doesn’t provide a voice to the victims and portrays the victims as just casualties. Either way, good on void for release this map.

I hope in a future update, VOID makes an extra large map that has 2 teams starting on opposite sides. It'd be exclusive for online multiplayer and be sort of a "raid" of sorts where the map is just filled with vertical threats and corners and hiding spots. One team can start inside somewhere, story-wise, they got ambushed, the 2nd team is the rescue team going in.

Next update they definitely need to make it an option to know when you’ve brought order to chaos. I agree that it takes the thrill of the game away if you already know. Plus in real life SWAT doesn’t know. I also think this map was so awesome in terms of really giving a perspective on what happens in these situations. It would be more interesting to have more students trying to evacuate or hunkering down in classrooms etc and having a more realistic scenario in terms of the terror people feel when going through something like this like hearing stuff like “they killed Jimmy” or students hiding under bodies or classrooms full of students rather than just 1 or two. I would also love to be able to open more of the rooms on each level. Like the hospital although it is already huge imagine having to clear the entire thing not knowing who or what is where. I know people were upset about this level but it gives a really good perspective on what SWAT has to do. I seriously love ready or not for how it makes me see the perspectives of law enforcement and the humanizing of both heroes and villains

A thing I find with realism games is that they have many aspects except the part that makes the job what it is. The squad takes out the graphic part of there fires, and patrol officers does the same thing. I found the nightclub map (Neon I think) much more haunting, given the music, ringing phones, and masses of bodies. With the school map, I was too pressured to find and detonate the bombs so I couldn’t really focus on the details of the scenario.

I feel like they could've done more with this. The hospital and club maps are far more brutal than the Campus. Im not saying it needed to be grotesk or anything, but there isn't a lot of atmosphere and there arent the little stories of survival that you find on the other maps. The past several weeks I have been playing runs of Elephant solo to see how effective I can be alone. I get about an 80% success rate, the fastest time I managed was 13 minutes flat with a B+ rating. I prioritize stopping the active threat before anything else. Usually takes me less than 3 minutes to stop the threat, max it took 5. I try to remember where the bombs are and hit those next, then wrap up the civilians. I found that without a team you cannot do everything as you go. It is literally impossible. Though there's only 4 shooters in vanilla, they are insanely paranoid and they hunt you. I take out the first one with ease since they don't expect the cops to be so silent like I am. After that they hold peeks, or manage to find you and engage you. There were times I'd enter the large classroom and engage a shooter, then head up the stairs to the second floor to see a shooter run towards the shots and start engaging me. There's times where I clear bathrooms and the moment I open a door the one that typically hides in the library or right outside the library comes flying down the stairs and gets me. Like they are very hard to solo. They even take out civilians at random times honestly. Like in the first minute of the run a few times I failed the save civilians objective because the shooters just laid out an entire room I wasn't anywhere close to but that's realistic and unpredictable. After shooters (about 2-5 minutes of the mission) I do the bombs and then Easter egg hunt the civilians and get them secured. Solo runs on Elephant are just insane. I recommend everyone try it. I recommend using long barreled ARs, use 1x sights (obviously) and run grips that give you ADS speed and run a laser pointer and muzzle is up to you, they don't react any differently to suppressors compared to brakes or stock.. Use the tactical stance with the laser. Don't bother with a sidearm, the shooters are always armored and they are resilient. I take the south entrance to the far left away from the entrance and sweep that hall to the T intersection with a shooter 20% of the time, peek down by the cafeteria a shooter is there 40% of the time, clear the computer room and then take the lockers next to the auditorium. I go to the auditorium and there's a shooter there about 40% of the time, either on the ground floor, on stairs both sides close and far or behind the podium up top. Sometimes they hand out in the room up top too. Then I clear the rec room in the auditorium and then go back to the auditorium and go to the second floor. I clear the top, then swing left and go towards the library. There's a pillar by a water fountain in the corner, always slow peek it and be ready to pre-fire if necessary, they are hiding there 50% of the time. When entering the library from the closest doorway, there's a shooter 40% of the time to the far left behind a bookcase, same thing slice the pie and go slow and pre-fire if needed. When the library is clear and the stairs are clear, go to the main entrance hall from the second floor. Clear the maintenance closet on the way, then from there you pick either top floor or ground floor. On ground floor I usually experience a shooter there 70% of the time in the stairwell or by the knocked over lockers. I go right and do the two classrooms, the room with chairs bundled up there's a shooter 30% of the time. In that hallway specifically there's a 35% chance for a shooter to be in the hall itself, a 10% chance for them to be in the large classroom there. Then I clear the other maintenance closet, hit the L-shape room with panic room. In that hall and in that room there's a shooter there like 60% of the time. On the second floor from the top you will see a shooter up there about 30% of the time and I clear the left rooms first. I've only had a shooter there a couple times so under 5%. Then in the right side of the second floor you do the lab first. A shooter is in there about 50% of the time, and the other room with that annoying cabinet in the middle I haven't seen a shooter there one time in my hundreds of runs. I hit bathrooms last, I never see a shooter there but it's possible since they hang in the hallway sometimes but connected to that is the lounge in the corner. and you usually clear that on your way to the first maintenance closet. For the kitchen a shooter is there 10% of the time and the first dozen runs I seen them there but lately there wasn't anyone there, so do that on your way to the bathrooms. That's my pathway to take the school. I can run it asleep at this point, it is by no way the most effective pathway but it certainly is not bad. It's the pathway that keeps me alive solo the most.

Oh boy running this with public groups was some whiplash. *Dark, serious tone about a deeply traumatic thing that thousands of kids have to deal with* First match here and I got 2 dudes who audibly sounded like the nerd emoji trying to tell reddit-tier jokes the whole time and shooting civilians through doors 2nd time here a guy is mute and waits outside and says "he's cosplaying as Uvalde PD" 3rd time we had an actually competent team and finished with a C+ No matter how much care or respect the devs put in, gamers generally just arent gonna match that. Personally a bit conflicted on this. I grew up through LOTS of shooter scares, and its something so stressful to have to deal with. My science teacher in HS survived the Vegas concert shooting, my younger sisters' schools got locked down SEVERAL times because of gun threats from incels and Klan fanboys, when I used to work for walmart the sister store down the road had a shooting that killed a few people and when the survivors were transferred to us for a couple weeks their eyes were just so grey. I couldn't even listen to the whole opening section of this vid cause it just makes me shake a bit. Just brings me back to HS where they'd do surprise shooter drills but we wouldn't know it was fake until an hour afterwards. Weirdly once we're in the game I'm fine and can lock in and have zero issues. IDK if thats an overshare, but I understand why people weren't a fan of this being added, but also its kinda core to the type of game this is so I'm not upset that it was added. The only against- takes Ive seen is basically "people are gonna make jokes in this very recent traumatic thing" and yeah they were right. I wonder if I'd think differently if it was younger me, still actively dealing with the posibility of active shooters as a student. I think now that Ive seen so many people deal with stuff WAY worse it kinda puts it into perspective. Like, the nebulous threat of potential violence vs kids abroad being explicitly PROMISED violence, at least in my case I'm only worried about 1 guy and not 40 + artillery and a fighter jet.

I love this map outside of having to defuse 2 bombs. I suppose it promotes the hasty nature that is essential to active shooter situations. Unlike barricaded suspects and search warrants, active shooter cases require immediate action and police can’t afford to take their time to assess every little detail.

After finishing this map for the first time I decided to take a break from playing RoN, I was not knowledgeable about the map, too slow and got civilians killed. Very uncomfortable map to sit through indeed. Will be back for S rank attempts but kudos to the devs for making this map, the last time we got similar experience was Rainbow 6 Vegas 2.

this mission is by far the most fucking annoying one ive come across if you want to get an A or above and took me like 10 tries. its always either i cant find the second bomb, the hostages are shot too soon, or the enemies can laser-beam your team with a fully automatic AK, and for some reason the team AI is more buggy in this map and doesn't respond to simple commands when you're already in a rush because of the bombs and hostages

@@andreasgajewski nope, the ai will keep shooting at you through a wall for a solid second or 2 and even if your out of thier vision, like 90 degrees to thier side, they'll still immediately lock onto you and kill you, if anything it feels worse than before the update

@@maf2528 I just finished the Ides of march and if you’re still stuck on it let me give you my recommendation for clearing it. Stay away from the main hallways and try to get into the rooms, the majority of them are connected plus it’s easier to watch your back. Also almost never breach doors either peek or use the mirror gun to check for traps first. Hope this helps
