Lu Lu & Ru😅😂 I did think the dogs could get out through the gaps in the barbed wire before you started putting the green wire on it. Hopefully once that is complete the dogs and chickens can be kept inside and street dogs can't get in. I can't believe how fertile the SL soil is. Stick a stick in the ground and it grows. 😮

There are 1000's of useful plants that grow without any care at all. When i was growing up ,i remember harvesting king yam and arrow root annually. I do not remember planting them. Each king yam tuber weighed about 10-15 kg. When i came to England,only potatoes grew without much care but even potato plants need watering. In sri lanka no care was needed.

If you are planting a mango tree properly, you have to have a 2*2*2 feet hole. Then fill the hole with top soil and organic matter. After filling keep it for 2 weeks before planting

It's heartwarming to see how the two of you are getting into sustainable living plans with amazing team work. I think one day you will see a beautiful garden. Albizia is a very useful plant in Sri Lanka. Use Albizia plant to cover our garden, protect our crops from insects, even for sinhala medicine. I think it's a good idea to use the Albizia plant as a hedge around the garden. Lucy Lahiru's English knowledge is increasing day by day. Both work very nicely. Best wishes to both.🥰

I also live in a similar environment around Galle. There are definitely hypenale vipers (kunakatuwa) in these kind of forests. I have also met several times. Again, wear boots when clearing the garden🙂👍

You can also have avocado, mango, lemon and orange trees around the land. Apparently avocado skin is very toxic to wild boars and they seem to have an innate understanding that they should not approach avocados. So it will fix the wild boar problem too 😆. BTW You both are awesome - Very hard working couple which I admire so much. Many blessings to you both.
