I'm going to take you into the cab with me and talk about what's going on along with future plans. I am somewhere around 1 week in using the excavator at this point. The area is clearing up nicely and I am moving closer to the acre mark. Hop on in and let's talk!

The in cab is a refreshing change GS. It was much more entertaining. You have made a lot of headway in a short time. Good work hero!

That and the last video back to back gave me an enjoyable hour and a bit of relaxing excavator work. I agree, when you get in the zone it is quite hypnotic. I reckon that ya get more tired the more the machine is worn, especially ya neck. Great vid man, be looking forward to the next ones. Have a Grand day my dude. 😀

It was a rental. Most people bang it in to stuff and don't take care of it because it's not theirs. It was in pretty rough shape when I got it.

should look into "tree law" fascinating stuff, just in case should the neighbor ruin any trees on your property.

Crawler loader was the machine you needed. Your job would have been done in a quarter of the time plus you could have graded also.

They wouldn't rent any type of bulldozer without a business license. This was the largest excavator I could rent without one. Actually couldn't rent anything with metal tracks. Even with this machine they still took a $2500 deposit.

@@GrandOutdoors wow that's insane! I never paid a deposit and James River (local JD dealer) just charges me the rental fees + delivery which I negotiate down. I cover insurance under my farm policy which saves a chunk of money and I don't pay tax either. I have rented everything from a 60k lbs excavator to a compact. I have rented their 655k but prefer the CAT 963. Next time you're clearing small stuff like that, maybe consider renting a Case DL550 or the new Deere 333G with dozer attachment. Several companies make a pin-on root rake for those small dozer blades.

Only the one bucket. It is worn, but that is what you'd expect from a rental.

Is your neighbour Reds, uncle, brothers, cousin ? “Buuuurn permit!? I don’t need no god dam buuurn permit” “that’s for pussies”. LOL. The jarring around in the cab will cause your neck pain, in the bigger machines they use top of the range ergonomic seats. Lot of repetitive work for the next 3 weeks, the fun will wear off soon lol.
