Your calm demeanor, the minimalist music and graphics, and concise, clear instructions of this video make it easy to watch and follow along without unnecessary distractions. I am a complete beginner and this video gives me the courage to try. Thank you so much.

Such a good tutorial - very clear. I am looking for a video on how to make a child's skirt (or adult) with a waistband that can grow with the child (or adult). I'm wondering if there's a way to do that -- perhaps a "belt" that is a piece of elastic with two fabric ties that go through the waist casing but exit at the front to tie into a bow (hope that makes sense). Also, you are one of the warmest people I've seen on youtube.

That sounds like a great idea! I would try around half the length as elastic and the rest as the fabric ties so the elastic doesn't stick out when worn at the smallest size. Hope you give it a try!

@@chasingthelook Maybe make two vertical button holes (near centre front of casing that faces people) for the ties to exit?

That’s a pretty fabric. I really like the end result. I thought that another way to sew the belts would be to turn the raw edges into the inside of the belt so there’s less bulk. Then you could sew them with your machine cracking the elastic. This way there is less of a chance that the elastic can twist inside the waistband. ☺️
