Clearsource OnBoard RV water filter | Install and Connect Water Filtration System in Geo Pro

I decided to upgrade my Geo Pro's onboard water filter. I purchased and connected the Clearsource Ultra Onboard RV Water Filter System in my Rockwood Geo Pro travel trailer. This three stage water filter includes the Clearsource-exclusive VirusGuard ™. So if a 0.5 micron water filter is not enough, the third stage includes the NASA developed technology incorporated in Clearsource's VirusGuard filter.

Hi Mario. Neat video! I've seen the ClearSource a few times and one of these days I'll break down and buy one. Right now I use a Berkey filter. I like the way you will mount it inside rather than outside. I'd be concerned about the weight and vibration as well. I think I'd place a board under the canisters themselves - same height as the board supporting the back plate (2" ???) - without nailing it in place so you could remove it to service the canisters. That would help support the whole thing while driving. I think the RV manufacturers put that piece of wood behind the absorption refrigerators to redirect and force as much airflow as possible over the fins on the back of the frig. Working on Plumbing and Electrical are the 2 biggest PIA's in RV's. I think they use spaghetti flowcharts to design these system.

Hey there, John! I have to agree on all points. We will have to see how well my mount works. I actually considered a little kickstand under the filter chassis during travel days to help support that cantilevered weight. I was thinking something on the front half. Since the objective is convenience, I would rather see it work without that extra step. Maybe a cleat under the canisters is the solution, like you mentioned. Take care, John!

Well done, respect! Braided steel supply hoses are always the way to go but I have to ask, was the cavity with the water pump in it not big enough to accommodate the new filter system...looked like the ideal spot!

Thanks for the kudos, Mr E Dude. I think the space inside the bathroom cabinets might have been just large enough. Not sure if it would have been more work or less work. The deciding factor for me is that I plan to place some equipment in that space (where the pump was originally mounted) to support my lithium battery upgrade project. I failed to mention that point in the video. Thanks for bringing it up!

Another great video, I would feel better if you also installed anti back flow - one way valve between your water supply and toilet.

Hey there, Boosted. I had to draw everything out on paper and I took several trips to the hardware store, replanning my drawings, etc. After I had everything connected and just before I started filming the video, I thought the exact same thing. I should have a check valve at the toilet! Oh well, these things are never really complete. I do feel the plumbing is better than when I purchased the Geo Pro. At least I feel it is for me.

could you come up with a list of what fittings you used to work on your geo pro I've noticed leaks under my sink and shower but then they stop so I know the time is coming to I'd like to have the tools and fittings ready when it happens, I like the braided hose solution wish I could do the whole camper with it.

Hello, Herbert. A list is a good idea, but I do not have one compiled right now. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to create a video that summarizes what I have used and how those items have been working out for me. For example, a lot of people have commented that the braided vinyl tubing is a bad idea. Maybe I can throw my two cents in after testing it some more. Its a shame this thing is a great filter but its way way 2 big, i hope tech can make it smaller in the future, like solar which are coming down in size (NEWPOWA) 100w almost half the size of all others & kicks ass maybe someone will get it done in filters, by the way almost all filters ARE A TOTAL SCAM so sad. We need fed regulation i hate 2 say.

Hey there, Stephen. It is definitely a large filter system. I have been holding my opinions until I have more experience with it. I will say that it is extremely heavy and, even for its size, there must be a way to make it lighter without sacrificing its durability. I hear you about the crazy marketing of water filters. I have always approached them with skepticism.
