Honestly, I felt like this scene had more meaning than going with Louis and Aasim. We spend time with Brody before she dies, we have an actual talk with Violet, learn more about her character, and get a cool cat skull.

You get the cat skull anyway in hunting, also you only really get a talk with Louis if you 'help,' him which is actually helping Clem relieve stress + to feel better. You learn about his philosophy and his mindset. Both scenes are there for a reason. Louis and Aasim to learn more about Louis, Vi and Brody to learn more about Vi. You feel like you learn more about Vi because we already know her backstory, with the twins. With Louis, we don't, which is why it feels like more was left out. Next episode will most likely show more of Louis character- due to the events that happened

Not really, Louis' philosophy is nice and all, but it is definitely flawed, as we saw with the bunny scene. It just felt like we didn't learn much about the characters, sure Clem had a laugh with Louis, but that scene didn't really do anything for me, it just made Louis seem immature and with little depth. With Violet, we learn a great deal of her character as she begins to let Clem enter her life, we get to help her heal old wounds. With Louis... It just seemed dull in comparison. I honestly prefer Louis as a character, but comparing the two is just dumb. You get more by going fishing. You learn a GREAT deal about Violet and Brody, where their mindsets are and the ghosts of their pasts. We have conversations about hypothetical possibilities, and we get to help these two characters rekindle their friendship and let out their feelings. With Louis and Aasim, we had some laughs/were annoyed and learned who these characters are at their face value, making them come across very one-dimensional, while Vi and Brody came across as very intriguing. It's not like we spent more time getting to know Violet either, remember we meet Louis first, and he comes across as the same carefree funny guy. I hope in the next episode they handle his character better, I do feel like he has great potential, like he's dealing with shit underneath but puts up a happy façade and lives to help others laugh.

Of course it's flawed, but that's what his philosophy is and TT are trying to tell us what it is. We don't know what his philosophy was, now we do from hunting. Also I like Clem being happy, and spending time with Lou made her happy AF. As mentioned Vi 'lost,' Minnie. That's *why* we learn a great deal. Lou, in the first episode, is essentially a mystery. We learn almost nothing about his backstory but only about his current mindset. But you're forgetting, this is episode one. Next episode TT confirmed through the AMA Marlon and Louis friendship will be covered, and I bet one of the central focuses will be Louis, and we'll learn about him. Which is why I'm so excited.

One thing i really like is that AJ didn’t question it when Clem told him that Violent and Minerva were a couple. He just went “Okay, cool.” Then moved on. He wasn’t raised where straight was the norm, nor really taught about all that messy romance stuff, he was simply raised to survive.(Maybe a little too well) So that’s pretty nice

This season did a great job of making determinate characters more effective. Louis and Violet being major determinate characters. - Clementine can have a romantic relationship or deeper friendship during the night of Preperation depending on who she chooses. - Not choosing Louis/Violet for rescue them in the fight with Lily and the delta has them kidnapped and "scarred" permanently in the final episode. - Whoever you save becomes the true determinate character in the final episode. - Refusing to trust AJ to make hard calls will have him save Tennesse over Louis/Violet., which they promptly die. This final season, along with season three did pretty good with determinate characters. Unlike the former seasons who's characters died later in the same episode, or destined to die in the later season. I believe this did better and made me wish all the more that we could've seen these impacts with Sarah, Christa, Molly, and Kenny (Leave him at Wellingham.)
