Idk if it’s just me but him messing up the timing of the lyrics on my favorite songs just didn’t cut it. I’m wondering if he struggles to play guitar and sing at the same time. At first I thought he wasn’t a strong singer but he did a hell of a job on 2008 and I wonder if that’s because it’s a slower song on guitar. I wish he sang it the way he did in the recorded song. But perhaps he's just winded and strumming the guitar as well as singing hinders his abilities to hit those same notes.

I think its a combo of that and the fact that he sings like he does in the recorded versions. He can easily adjust the volume, so he can sing low and get it to sound good, whereas in this version if he tries singing in the restrained recorded version he kinda just sounds like he's holding in a cough at some points. still amazing though, and the 2008 part was insane.
