I rewatched the Raiders game last night and need to change the grade I gave Watson on the instant reaction show. Watson played his best game of the season so far. I gave him a C. I should have gave him a B or a B+. I hope he keeps it up …… keeps playing at a higher level than he has been since joining the Browns …… however, I still don’t think he’s an elite QB. As I have posted before, I don’t think he is an elite QB, he just plays one on TV and gets paid like one. But I really, really hope he starts playing at an elite level and leads us to the playoffs. He has to remit back his salary for the first four games, as well as forfeiting his salary for the fifth. Have to wonder if he has to pay it back in pre-tax or after-tax dollars. Also probably forfeits whatever guarantees attached to the contract. What an idiot! Probably won't be cut unless video of he incident surfaces, but from now on he's on a very short lease, and the jury is definitely out on whether he straightens out and whether he'll be a good player. If he wants to stick, he better be. And he's the second recent OSU draft pick that we're having problems with. Dewand Jones has nearly eaten himself out of the league, so much so that about the only thing he can block is a driveway. And he was considered a steal just last year with any number of re-drafts placing him in he top 15 and proclaiming him the top O-Tackle in the class. Another idiot! Has to make you wonder whether we need a new GM.
