Not sure if the deal will fall through. As a former U.S. Steel employee of 22 years, who lost his job due to plant closure in December, Im hoping that the deal with Nippon falls through, Cleveland Cliffs buys U.S. Steel and reopens the Pittsburg CA steel mill. 🙏

Dont worry it will fall since Biden and Trump both oppose it, next will be the US-Japan alliance and relations. Hope Trump wins so the military deals can end.

the ownership of the shares are not property of the united states, they are property of the shareholders. Which they approved the deal this past week. This guy is probably mad he didn't get the deal they failed to secure. Nothing he said was compelling? Wonder if anyone else feels the same.

Any President saying he'd block the deal is a joke. There is nothing he can do. That's just to make sure they lock in the vote. It's an election year people.

Why won't they demand their own military to go back home then? Are they ok for their military to be on someone else's soil? Talk about hypocritical

@@Image-XAnything can happen though. Japan can suddenly go 180 and kick US military out and end the alliance, they are changing PM this year and views are changing. If the US block the deal it will be an end or a major downgrade of US-Japan relations and alliance especially if Trump is elected.

@@a61374 Uh, a military alliance with the US is the greatest thing another country like Japan could hope for. A private sector business deal has no effect on strategic military agreements. The country WANTS Trump elected and have grown tired of the corrupt democrats who have made a joke of the country on the world stage.

Your not going to like this, but Elon Musk[..Iron Man], who is buying/using more steel in his operations, should buy US Steel(...?) The business and social outrage does not counter the fact that he would innovate/invigorate/investors in a product so essential to his ambitions, that can be vertically integrated into his products. Yeah, but given his track-record; Tesla and Twitter, there's little chance of this happening. So, US Steel will be left to "Animal Spirits & Profits-of-Chaos", benefitting only the wolves who prey on the workers labor. US Steel like Disney is an American institution, and selling it to Nippon Steel is a tragedy/consequence of ignorance. There is certainly not enough steel production in America, as it experiences the "largest industrial expansion since World War II", and China has the largest production in the world, but there are alternatives revealed by technology, and Elon Musk has the world's most advance 'team' in "Material Science", "Paradigm-of-Production"[time/money], and "Intelligence-based-Performance" in US manufacturing today(.) Nahhh ...never happen, because 'ignorance-is-popular', and the only cure is 'time-and-consequences'. Remember, only Elon is competing with China in cars, rockets, and manufacturing, so saving US Steel is just a win for every American, not just the wolves who will walk away with the money(?...)
