On day 2 of the Cleveland Way we walk 15+ miles to a wild camp near Clay Bank, battle more rainstorms, have an indecisive moment and enjoy a mostly-gorgeous day on the trail taking in Osmotherly and beautiful open heather moorland and lots of climbs before finding a camp site where I thought the farmer was going to ask me to leave.
The 110 mile Cleveland Way starts in Helmsley, Yorkshire and circumnavigates the North Yorkshire moors taking in stunning vistas from Sutton Bank and Clay Bank, through historical and charming towns and villages and following the immense and epic cliffs and sea route between Saltburn and Filey. This trail offers a huge variety of terrain, wildlife and scenery as well as quite the variety of weather and livestock encounters.

Great vlog. Some stunning views. It's so easy to take the wrong trail in the woods when they appear to be heading in the right direction (speaking from personal experience). Looking forward to the next instalment to keep us going in these odd times.

I felt for you going the wrong way...I did exactly the same thing myself up past Clay Bank and added around 5 miles when I was on my last legs towards the end of the day..Really nice video ,lots of scenic views.loving the two loyal dogs ..I m interested in weather forecasts and one thing the forecasters add is that " weather forecasts contain uncertainties " can t trust them too much especially in crazy weather UK.

You have been unlucky with the weather and the unpredictability of it is always a constant issue Up North. Good to see you got some great views and something we take for granted is the dry stone walling, something I have always found always seems to fascinate the Americans. I admire you honesty, on if you had made the right call on ploughing head and also when you hit the wrong trail a couple of times, I hate perfect videos, as we all make mistakes and doubt ourselves sometimes. When you are tired, having to double back on yourself would kill me and I have done some hikes where the signage is fantastic but others, they almost seems to want to hide the signs, so frustrating. Despite the weight and the headache, an impressive days hiking, cheers Alan

Great video, very relaxing to watch. Felt like I was there with you, its great that you know when to carry on and when not too, I've got myself into some sticky situations trying to get to the summit in the past and have learnt over the years when to turn back. You're dogs are gorgeous and very well behaved. Well done will look forward to more videos. All the best. Day

Hi 🙋🏻‍♂️ hope that you are keeping well? Looks a super trail. Really enjoy the camera shots & angles you have used. Really makes we feel I’m along for the ride or in this case walk. What type of camera are using out of interest? All the best - Andy
