Can the blockage in the neck be disolved by medication or nutrition?

Are statins a typical part of the post-op protocol? If so, what about the data showing that statins can increase calcification in the arteries and soft tissue? It seems counterintuitive to treat someone with statins when the increased calcification may present a restenosis scenario. Thoughts?

Thank you 💖. I landed at emergency 3 times since July 4th. First was no balance and flying to left. Following week lost speech and couldn't write with right and still balance problems. Third my whole right hand to shoulder pulling of the muscles and my speech and balance worsened. Found out 59 percent on right blocked and 50 on right from CT and Ultrasound. Placed on 80 mg prevastatin and asprin. I had lowered statin due to side effects but still problems. I already have severe neurogenic bladder and Claudia Equine Syndrome from back accident. Herniations and spinal stenosis . I stopped med and finally after 2 days no more constant bladder spasms and finally 2 nights of sleep. I do Cath 4 times a day and Foley's once or twice a week before but this med drove me crazy. I did take my Enablex and doubled it and no relief as felt like an infection. But none . I went back on statin at 20 mg 2 days ago and no relief now back with Foley bag . Any alternatives? I cannot live like this. It's genetic in my family . I'm the only one so far the youngest age to have it this advanced. I lost 5 family members within 4.5 months . I was told by stroke department no surgery will be done unless completely blocked . Had MRI and no damage thank god. Thanks

I would be cautious with the 'genetic' theory. It's largely being pushed these days to absolve pharmaceutical companies and FDA policy of poor judgement. Of course your genetic makeup is significant part of your life and well being. Genetics loads the gun and the person pulls the trigger. My parents went on the 'health craze' that began in the 1990s until more recently. Low cholesterol, low fat, and complex carbohydrates. My father was diagnosed with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and a recent EKG is showing problems with his heart. I fear they are going to find a severe blockage and he's only 55. Your blockages are a result of plaque buildup obviously. Though the plaque buildup is due to inflammation and damage. After a good 15 years of study, I've largely deemed that inflammation to be due to three most likely candidates. 1: Prescription drug use (largely stemming from Statins) that cause arterial damage long term. Research on cognition has shown that it has the potential to reduce your IQ by about 13 point or a standard deviation. Which makes sense because Statins interfere with HDL/LDL that carry lipids to be used for energy in your brain and other areas of your body. 2. Glycosylated cholesterol units in the blood stream. Cholesterol doesn't function as intended when it is overwhelmed by a massive amount of glucose in the bloodstream. 3. Pesticides likes glyphosate or DDT found in agricultural products that have the potential to enflame and damage your body.
