It was just easier to deal with and it did the job sufficiently enough to make going to color not worth the extra cost. Fun fact, you can't use the red light for developing color film, the room has to be completely dark. The red light can only be used for black and white film.

In terms of movies there was also color available too, but due to costs it was also not viable for a bit. To my knowledge though it was viable for a time but black and white continued to be used because most movies of that era thrived on the black and white story telling/enviroment. And were even testing the boundaries of how to fully utilize black and white. Eventually we shifted into color of course but I forgot the exact reason why, aside from just color being neat.

Technically several things were invented in America, most thing however that were created in america were a twist on an already existing thing. Little bit of trivia about the Mcdonalds Ice Cream machine: The reason it's always broken is because of the manufacturer essentially, they install software that basically makes it so employees can't fix the machine themselves, in addition repairs can take several hours and may not actually fix the problem, and besides that the only person who can actually fix the machine legally is a mechanic licensed by the manufacturer, which can take days to arrive if they choose to go at all. There are websites essentially trying to pirate the software so that employees can just fix the machines instead of waiting for a mechanic who would show up whenever.
@LilChuunosuke4 ай бұрын
Also one of the most common reasons for ice cream machine failure is because the heat cycle failed overnight. Failure can literally be caused by it being off by a single degree. And it can often just be fixed by reducing the amount of ice cream in the vat. But they don't tell people this because they want stores to keep calling in repair techs and raking in that dough.

That, the comment above, plus the fact that currently not many people are trained properly how to do the weekly clean on it (which involves emptying the shake mix tanks, taking all the small parts to wash em, then putting it all back together), and even those who were tend to make a slip up or two, which almost always leads to something fucking up

Worked on a fast food restaurant that had one of those machines, same vendor even, the difference tho is that it was old enough to be completely analog. Just wires an sensors. Never failed even once. No, this is just a common myth and it goes against why alcohol can potentially violate consent. Drunks have a higher propensity to say what's initially on their mind such as intrusive thoughts or poorly thought out ideas. A lot of what they say can be blatantly untrue such as saying they're the president, or saying they can do an epic stunt only to fuck it up. This is also why you can't really have someone consent under the influence alcohol since again it's not truth serum, it's literally just them making decisions or saying things that are poorly thought out which impairs their judgement and ability to consent to sex. Most people have ideas that when they think about it, they realize that their idea is dumb, immoral, or is flawed in some other way. Alcohol is not truth serum because if it truly was, then legal consent issues for those under the influence of alcohol wouldn't even exists.

18:46 i personally think the voting requirements should be a test about politics to see if the person taking the test knows enough about voting to make a valid decision. therefore, kids (such as 10-17 year olds) who are eager activists will be able to make a bigger impact.
@aralornwolf31404 ай бұрын
I think it should be the other way around. It's on the politicians to prove themselves capable of being honest, hardworking, thoughtful people... instead of it being a popularity contest easily swayed with $$$.
@AutliАй бұрын
Yeah, as much as this sounds good, this is basically what Jim Crow laws did for a century to make sure black people couldn't vote because they weren't educated. So maybe not the best idea. Testing politicians is a bit less of a bad idea, but it also runs up against the same problem.

13:29 I actually know what prompt engineering is, and yeah this is stupid. In case anyone cares, prompt engineering is a machine learning concept. Basically, when you send a request to an AI like a chatbot, it gets inserted into a larger prompt which has instructions and examples for the AI to consider in its response. Prompt engineering is fiddling with that to try to improve the AI's response.

That tweet about women objectifying men. There was literally an ad in the UK about a woman talking to her mum (on holiday) on the phone and the mum was drooling over some Italian men. If it's gross for men to do it, it's gross for you to do it.
